So my beloved new V2 have just had its first service - asked there garage to install the Quadlock wireless phone charger. Didn’t do it - didn’t want to splice in to the wiring loom, so suggested I went with the original USB charger, that is just for plug in…… okay, fair enough- if that’s their policy, I may have to go with that - BUT, I’d still want to use my tomtom either on phone or the Rider550 as a physical device, so still need to tap in for some live-switched power - and not directly to the battery. Does anyone know where the connector is for this USB port? https://www.ducati.com/gb/en/accessories/ACC013196 Part number according to configurator should be 96681821AA - but googling it give various options from off-road framework for desertx to security module, and no results about a usb port…
I’m not sure if this plug under the seat just has a blanking cap on it which can be removed. I ‘think’ there was one behind the headlight as well but cannot fully remember.
My quess would bet its the one behind headlight as the OEM USB thingy looks to have rather short vires. I ordered one as well, but its on back order - bu can find any meaning full info where to plug it and what have the negineers planned for its location. you can also get an adapter for the diagnostic plug in rear cone and vire 12v from there thested yesterday but did not bother to start ripping the plastics off. So quadlock is waiting for juice.
Can't help you directly as such not owning a modern Ducati, however my QuadLock is wired to my heated grips terminal behind my headlight on my GasGas 700. No splicing into the loom was required and no taking it to the dealer to activate the circuit so all was good.
I also have the USB plug on back order. The install location is right below the ignition key on the right hand side. There is a rubber grommet that you remove. On the second picture I have removed the plastic shields to reveal the power plug and the last picture is from the left hand side with the plastic shields removed.
