Back After Accident

  1. GWS mate!

  2. :scream: Seems you had a close call there Perry. As @chizel said above, we all dismiss things like this from our minds or else we wouldn’t ride but sharing it like this brings it home and, in its own way, will make us all think about it a little more and perhaps alter our actions imperceptibly but for the better. I hope your recovery is as quick, painless, and inconvenient as possible. :upyeah:

ps. As said above get a specialist RTA PI lawyer don’t just accept the one the insurance co suggests, the insurance co benefits from discounted legal fees. She’s already admitted fault, you’ll recover all your legal fees, get the best, they’ll not be cheap but will pay for themselves several times over.

  4. Bloody hell Perry it sounds like you’re lucky to be in one piece!
Hopefully your recovery goes well, you will need to be patient I fear.
You will need a good solicitor on your side, give Andrew Dalton a ring from White Dalton Solicitors.
He helped me when I was hit head on at the TT and in my opinion he’s one of the best.
    Take care chap.

  5. Thanks for all the good wishes. Happy with the negotiator that the other side are paying for. We picked him from several cvs. He has already been here to see me and seems experienced. One reason was that he has done serious bike accidents before. Anyone welcome to visit but check that I am still here by phoning hospital (Vale Community Hospital, Dursley). They might transfer me to somewhere in Gloucester soon. The pain from my injuries is sometimes unbelievable. Have to resist the codeine or morphine as it gives me constipation! I have to man-up!!!

  6. Good to see you have still got a sense of humour.
Try tramadol, I had some strange dreams when I was taking that !!
It can be addictive so be careful but unless you get pain relief you won’t be able to sleep etc. and that will make you feel even worse.

  7. Sounds awful Perry. My best wishes on a speedy recovery.

Good that you didn’t loose your leg.

    She didn’t see you....unbelievable isn’t it.
Stay positive, it’ll take some time to recover as I’m sure you already know. And it’ll take a long time to sort the claim so don’t stress yourself about the timescale.

    Keep us posted.

  8. You’re right Sam, patience is key in these situations.
My claim took over 6 years to finalise, the other sides insurance tried all the tricks in the book to wear me down.
Hence the importance of having the right person fighting your corner.
It will all sort itself out in the end though Perry.

  9. Get those pain killers in you and they should be giving you lots of stuff so you aren’t constipated
If you get too bad an enema is ok weird but ok :)
    Don’t ask how I know

Keep up the fluids but movicol and docusate regularly like 3 times a day and even if your ok should work

  14. Still with us....good man - physio is a killer (6 months of it myself a few years ago on the hour every hour) - wake up for a piss in the night....physio....nowhere near the scale of your damage but still tough in itself...

As for the damage to yourself....i look at it this way....if i go in the fire when ive gone and my body is pretty knackered and patched up itll be a job well done. I wouldnt want to go having a perfect body in good shape...so far ive got a shed load of scars and some heavy nerve damage...
