I tried the AliExpress bar raisers (£20) that look identical to the Wunderlich ones, I wondered if they were the same, they have to be made somewhere? These were fitted fine but do move the bars back towards you by about half an inch as well as raising them. I ended removing the raisers and tipping the bars up about two-thirds in between the Road line and Off Road line (markings are there for brake/clutch as well). This moved them up and away from me slightly and feels a bit more aggressive for normal riding. May not suit every one but at 6’2” and nearly 20 stone it suits me.
I personally wouldn't want a 20 quid bit of metal from an unknown stock of metal made by someone I can't contact when it fails, sat between my bikes controls and the bike. That is one of the reasons I prefer buying from a reputable (albeit it, more costly 99% of the time) seller/manufacturer. They at least have a reputation
I’ve had absolutely no issues with the cheap ones I bought. It’s just a block of aluminium and 4 bolts (which I upgraded with ones I already had).
I had a bad experience with some very soft rip off pazzo levers years back and I'm still bitter about it
I’d normally agree but thought it was pretty difficult to f*ck up a simple part like this, if I didn’t t like the look of them then I would have just binned them. Also £179 for the other ones was more of an investment if I didn’t like them. I was also spending a load of cash on a bunch of other Wunderlich parts (were I didn’t want to compromise).
I HAVE MOUNTED SOME handlebar risers, and I have already tested them for 20 euros on Amazon. Can you imagine where they are from?
Keep in mind when you mount it that the original handlebar marks are no longer valid. I placed an electronic bubble level on the grip and lever to leave the same inclination and so that the angle would not look strange higher or lower.
I fitted a very similar set of risers to my previous MTS1200. My issue wasn't that I needed the bars higher, I wanted them flatter and closer to me but that meant the bars hit the top of the tank on full lock. 20mm risers gave them sufficient clearance. Not very obvious in this picture.
