He's a cheeky cnut alright !. I mailed him asking how much he wanted for a part from a damaged 1098R he was breaking (Traction control unit), he mailed back asking me to make him an offer although I'd already asked him to name his price for the unlisted part. So I made him an offer and got a load of abuse back saying I was taking the p**s, along with the price he wanted, which was extortionate. His attitude leaves a lot to be desired. I won't be in a hurry to use him again unless I spot a bargain. I certainly won't make an offer on anything. I found one in the USA for 1/2 the price shipped, the guy even threw in a front wheel speed sensor for free when I asked if he had one.
I spoke to the guy today about some more bits for the build. He added the triple clamps, engine bolts and swing arm pivot for £70! I can see what you mean though he was pretty abrupt. But I just put it down to the language barrier / cultural differences.
I had bought a couple of bits n' pieces from him before at prices I was happy to pay with no problems. I thought I had a buyer / seller relationship hence mailing him 1st when I was looking for this particular part. Never again.
Well. The frame arrived this am. On first inspection all looks good. No marks on the lock stops and usual place's prone to damage are A ok. Plan to drop it over the motor tonight to check it hasn't sprung. Then I'll put it on the surface plate at work and have a measure up. Fingers crossed. (even came with its reg plate. Going to Hpi check it tonight too)
It's a winner! Back into work with it tomorrow for a measure up as best as I can. Then off the the blasters once it's had a wash. Happy days
