Good morning, I want to get rid of the house brick of a battery fitted to my 996sps 2001. I understand that the original spec was a small gel battery. At some point mine has has the larger battery and holder fitted. I would like to loose the weight but without compromising the performance. I can make up a holder for a smaller unit. I would be greatful for any suggestions. Cheers!
Speak to your local dealer as I believe the small battery box modification is still available and is not expensive. Andy
You can buy the small carbon battery box from... Erm... Bursi evolution i think. But i made my own. :Happy:
I put a Lithium battery on mine... ..it was for a rsv though so isn't the right size and is held in by a bungy strap! no doubt a proper 916 one would fit right in with no mods.
