Just an update I remembered I still had the battery from my other 749, it has been sitting in the shed for almost 2 years. I dug it out and put it on the optimate just after my last post, even without full charge(showing 11.7) it fired up! The cheap battery I bought would show up as 12.4 and did f all. I did get a little scare when the bike decided to Rev up to 4K, I guessed it was the fast idle so I took it apart, and it idled correctly.
