All democracies have to continually assess the big picture in order to fulfil their prime duty: to protect the people who elect them. Unlike nutty - to use your word - theocracies that claim divine guidance for their divisive, cruel and destructive actions. Would you really like to live in a theocracy?
Only when they say they want to change the way of life of millions of people by imposing sharia law, or kill people and spread hatred and division in the name of religion. Here you go, are you a Muslim? Don't try the racist thing on me. A Muslim can come from any racial grouping - Chechens (Caucasian), Chinese (Oriental), Asian, African or whatever. So, are you a Muslim? If not why do you feel the need to defend them?
Pick a side and don't go all chuchy. Get a grip, the public are not there to be protected, They are on the front line! . You're ready to have a war with Iran. How is that protecting you.
I don't think I'm a Muslim. I'm not defending anyone. There is unfortunately terrorism world wide. Not all get the airtime.
Why on earth doesn't 'Speedy Tripply Frenchman Origin Unknown Triumph Thingy' stop trying to wind people up and just eff off ........its about time he was banned for good.... It seems he lives in Richmond BTW and appears to need to find a shrink in a hurry....
In recent years I'm sure you'd accept that Islamic terrorism has claimed more lives than any other. That's why they get the airtime, obviously. They are the greatest threat. And most of thosd killed have been Muslims. Radical Islamicists appear to be equal-opportunity terrorists at least. Just on the BBC news: "Dozens of English girls have been flown to Somalia for FGM". I'm willing to bet my house that they are all from Muslim families. What say you? Will there be Catholics, Protestants and atheists among them? So, apart from FGM, Sharia law, extreme homophobia and misogyny, anti-semitism, medieval punishments, a backward-looking attitude and understanding of economics, feudal societies etc, what's wrong with Islam. I can't understand why anyone would not prefer that it ceased to exist as soon as possible. I put all religions in that category, by the way, but Islam continually succeeds in removing itself from any consideration as a benign or even ineffective tradition by inflicting misery, pain and suffering on its own adherents and the rest of the human race.
