With just the trade deal and no Brexit, UK and Jap built cars would be at the same price level in the EU with no tariffs, but just transport costs on the Jap sourced cars. It might have been that Honda could have kept Swindon open. Brexit then puts the 10% tariff on UK sourced cars so there is no sense in making the cars in the UK. Loz, I spent my whole life in the service of the UK, pay tax there, but have no vote. I will fight tooth and nail to avoid moving back.
