  4. I did 27 years of 12 hour nights/days and the nights were awful......
But I’m sitting here retired at 50 thinking maybe it wasn’t so bad...
The retirement was brought forward a tad due to me smashing myself to pieces on the Island.
I still only sleep approximately 6 hours a night.

  5. Sometimes.

More often it will be 24 hours without a bed.

  6. 6 hours in the week on average and 8 or 9 at weekend.

Did a few stints of nightshift in my 20's - unpleasant memories :skull:

  7. Ouch - are you getting better?

  8. Sadly my back will force me out of bed after about 8 hours if im lucky - if i get a constant 6 hours id consider myself also...very lucky...

  11. 5 hours max. Up at 4:30am every morning, that’s 365 days a year. Done it for 30 years solid - no exaggeration!. One of the pleasures of owning a dairy farm!:grinning:. Had a lie in back in 1998 when I went on honeymoon, didn’t have a choice in the matter, it was a surprise present from my father in law.o_O Spent a fortnight wandering round an island in the Maldives looking for some cows to milk!

  15. I've never really needed loads of sleep . Now I work a normal job, 8-4;30 I have more sleep than I ever have done . 8hrs in bed is certainly plenty for me .
My teenage daughter, now that's a different level.....

  16. i only need half an hour to get a stroke in.....

  18. To a degree, it happened back in 2010.
A French rider on the wrong side of the road hit me head on, numerous arm, hand, sternum injuries but the main issue was my back.
I lost 3 vertebrae due to compression fractures. It healed to a degree but I ended up having spinal fusion in 2013 as it fractured again.
Full of rods and screws but lucky to be alive and mobile(ish).
I persevered with sports bikes, Tuono V4’s etc but the injuries finally defeated me this year when I bought a GS Adventure, no laughing at the back!!!!
You never know what is round the corner......especially if it’s on the wrong side of the road......

  20. I travel a lot - so in lot so can be in 3 different time zones in a month - USA / UK / China... been doing this close on 20 years... so thing my body clock spring is broken..

As a result - normally around 4 hours when I am away working and at best maybe 6 hours.. sometimes it takes me 10 days to get into the time zone and I may just get 1 or 2 hours... a night - other times I get 4 to 5 instantly..

Up at 4.30 every morning (at latest) to walk the dogs when I am at home - 7 days a week.

On weekends or when home (and not working) may nap for an hour or so in early PM.
