899 Been A While! Test Riding An 899 On Saturday

  1. Quite.

It makes no economic sense for Ducati to make different fairings, mirrors and tailpiece for the 1299 than the 899.
Plus they are offering cracking deals on the current 899 and most dealers still have stock of the current model.
Plus nearly all their bikes have been updated every two years in recent times.

  2. As always Eric, you are correct. It is a fact that there is speculation. :)

    • Thanks Thanks x 1
  3. I think a new 899 is on the cards too. Maybe they will give it a colour dash, and SSSA, and M50's .... that'd be a great bike.

Are dealers knocking 899's out cheap then?

  4. £750 accessories voucher. Not brilliant when you consider last 2 winters they have come with free termis which is what £1600 value at least

  5. There is an offer of £750 worth of accessories or apparel on a number of models. The 899 is one.

  6. The termi offer when they were released was keener than that though...

Are you still loving your 899?

  7. Yeah I do. It's great on the road. :)

Also loving the scrambler, but in a different way. It's a real fun bike for throwing round corners :upyeah:

  8. I love my 899 it just puts a smile on my face everytime I get on it. I know 2 people waiting until October to see if they do the termi offer again.

  9. I'm holding out until October to see what's announce at Milan, plus I'll have a much bigger deposit. I have to say though, I don't care about SSSA, M50 brakes or the TFT DASH, all are nice to have but if it pushes the price up then it's harder and harder to justify.

I don't really prefer the front of the new 1299, but I do like the rear seat unit so if they do a mild update where Perhaps they change footpegs and a few little touches then it's worth waiting for. My deposit gets bigger each month that goes by from now.

  10. A mechanical slipper clutch would be great but it all depends on the money men I guess.

My main wish for the 899 is that metzeler make a 60 profile rear or Ducati update the electronics with a learn tyre function like the 1299.

  11. I really liked the standard tyres, I have to say my Sportsmart 2's are nice but they feel very stiff, the Rosso's seem to have some more flex to them.

Not so bothered about the slipper clutch for my riding tbh as I won't be tracking it. I would like the full LED headlights because I think it looks a little odd with yellow mains and LED running lights in the centre, a small thing though.
