As someone else recommended Axarquia, Spain.
You can get by with the language. Food and wine cheap and good. Not as good as Italy but much cheaper. Weather best in Europe and the roads, the roads are fantastic.

Cheap flights back to UK, should you feel the need. And if you feel like doing the odd casual air con job it’d be like pulling cherries off trees.

What’s not to like?

 

Couldn't agree more, I will retire to a quiet corner of Spain, probably buy a hypermotard, perfect for the roads down there.

How bizzare, I lived in Mijas for 4 years, in and out of Malaga all the time, never heard of it, I'll look it up.

 

Got it, the region east of Malaga, been through there so many times, just never realised that was it's name.
