  1. And cheap cider

  2. And lots of hippies :upyeah:

  3. I've had a chat with one of the guys at Bike Trac about a couple of points raised, that I couldn't give a definite answer on, so here goes........
The Subscription isn't transferable but the unit IS - unlike some units on the market.· You can use it abroad without paying extra as long as time spend abroad does not exceed 8 weeks in total per year. The bread crumb feature will still track your journey Free of Charge as well.
    · The Ducati Biketrac offer at the moment is for those purchasing a Panigale and insuring through Ducati Insurance - Free unit + Free 1 years subscription + Free installation and a discount against the insurance policy. I believe also that Ducati Insurance will offer a fair old discount on other bikes if the unit is fitted also. This is not the same offer as the 1199 though...you still have to buy it and pay the subs.
    · They use 3 methods of locating a bike equipped with Bike Trac - 1.GPS 2. LBS (triangulates from transmitters for a rough location then uses the RF signal to pin it down) and finally 3. RF beacon
    · They use Orange & TMobile as network providers. Coverage is as good if not better than any of the other main providers however as with all networks there will be areas with no signal. The good news is it will be a localised issue and the likelihood is if the thieves are going to steal your bike they are likely to move it somewhere else.
    · There isn’t a service mode as such, you can de-activate the SOC (Secure Operating Centre) 24/7 monitoring station so you avoid the phone calls and you can un-tick the contacts while the bike is in the garage.
    · There is however a transportation mode which allows you to text the device to Disarm and until the bike Trac sees another ignition cycle it will not alarm - handy for Ferry travel for example.

Some of that is quoted, some my deciphering. Hope it clears it up a bit. :upyeah:

Has a 5 year internal battery if your main battery fails , seemingly , and goes off if you move it without putting the ignition on. I have had a few text alerts but theres a simple text back to say its o.k. It dosent use a mobile fone card has some other type of gadget .

  5. quick update, finally had a ride and voila the map updated to trace my route, plus I think the manual is terrible as it doesn't clearly state what is where... I figured it all out but it took some time. Likewise I think it has taken road angel a few days to activate everything fully.
