  1. I wonder how much of that data will be relevant four or five years on while at the same time you're trying to (presumably) build an 800.

  2. ^point taken, oxley mentions it may prove a useful guide on deciding whether they actually go ahead or not.

  3. This would be a way for Toprak to get into MGP!

  4. Has anyone seen or heard what’s happening to moto 2 when moto gp goes back to 800s yet?
35cc is not going to be a very noticeable difference in class…

  5. And will WSB have faster lap times and higher top speeds than MotoGP?

  6. IMO, no. Dorna and the FIM have already stated World SBK is going to change but no details given. Andy

  7. WSBK must go much closer to superstock rules it simply MUST. Otherwise the lap times will be faster than the blue ribbon class and that just won’t wash globally at all.

I suspect that’s the most significant reason why the new Panigale has gone twin swing arm, they’ll no doubt have no option to use a featherweight version going towards 2027 and this model year will see us to 2029 or so. They’re getting us used to seeing it in anticipation of the R coming out.

Guaranteed there’s a new rule set about to be announced for WSBK. Much more simplified utilising stock road bike features.
