And as someone pointed out you need to go to the dodgy corner shop, then again it may have been Janet & John that you read or Spot goes shopping. Who knows with you Ex.
Does anyone else here have a library at home... I mean any room with just nothing but books and may be a chair?
I always wanted one of those. I've just got shelves all over the place and have run out of room on them. I am going to have to build some more shelves, but I don't know where to put them.
I enjoy Clive Cussler as well, I first read one of his books only last year. I also enjoy Wilber Smith, ken Follett and like Bernard Cornwall for the history lesson you didn't realise you also get with his books.
Got approx 1000 books in my man cave, guess its my library as well. I refuse to have a kindle and never throw away a book.
I read loads as I have 3 hours a day commuting by train. I don't read fiction as I find other peoples efforts real efforts more interesting. My all time favourite book is Touch Wood by Duncan Hamilton, the 1953 Le Mans winner. It's not just about cars as it covers his growing up, war years etc. It's recently been reprinted so is available again.
Just bought both on ebay for £2.04 each based on your recommendations.....hope they're good..... If you like aeronautical history then Ruth-Less and Far From Home by Kevin Watson is interesting (more so as it's local history for me). Can be hard to get and therefore pricey so wait for a cheaper copy, as it's quite a small book so doesn't take long to read. It tells the story of a Liberator that crashed on the South Downs, but is more interesting as it had all been forgotten until a local decided to find out what all the bits of plane he found were from, which led to the book and the placement of a memorial at the crash site.
