  1. So a nice slippery set of carbon fibre cans will reduce ari resistance and make you faster ???
If only some one had a nice cheap set for sale...

  2. Noooo… well, not for the same reason.

  3. I was being sarcastic bud, I’m not so diminished by age that forgot something I learnt at 16.

My old 851 with a lot more horses barely faster than an air cooled 900 of the same vintage, unlikely.

  4. No thanks. I'm going to hold out for something high level.

  6. Hmm... I have a set of outrageously loud carbon Microns on my 900ss that could probably do with repacking, but I'm tempted, and I've just booked a track day at Cadwell with a 105 dB noise limit (incredibly last year I measured 105.9 dB and they let me through with a wink).
Never heard of Bos though - Dutch company?

  7. Bugger, I would have had these in a heartbeat but sadly had to sell my SS just before Christmas to make space in the garage, we have six in there now and it was just a little too crowded to get on with the restoration projects! Bos were a popular one back in the day but like Sev said they were overshadowed by the Termignoni dominance, I used to like D&D ones too but can't remember the last time I saw a set for sale!

  8. Repack them. We have run Termi high, Arrow high, DP carbon low, DP alloy low and currently a single underseat Scorpion can on the track 900ss ie at Cadwell and it has never registered more than literally half as loud as yours! (Sorry for thread drift - lovely exhausts… buy them somebody !)

  9. Yep, looking into repacking them now. Was flummoxed by the rivets which are 16mm diameter, but think I've sussed it now. It's a "wide flange, dome head rivet". I think.

  10. Thanks. Gonna drill one out and see what I need to order in terms of diameter and length. Rivet head is about 16mm dia.

Any tips on packing material, or are they all much of a muchness? Been looking on eBay but its difficult to tell what you're actually getting.

  11. After trying all sorts I now use this from ebay in this size, which is perfect for the 2x 400mm cans on an SS.

  12. Thanks Jon - one roll is enough for two cans?

  13. Yes, cut it into 2 400 x 500 halves.

  14. Do you think it's worth me closing this thread and starting a new one ? There is some good info here (such as 900 exhausts won't fit on a 750 / rivet sizes / packing etc) but at the same time I'd quite like to sell these !!
