Only just seen this, will be at the petrol station at the corner of A607/B6047 at around 8:30, if you're interested.
I was there wandering around like a jessy on my own (I was in blue bks leathers if anybody saw me!) good day though watching the Lancaster taxi and all the relics and info in the hangers, very interesting place.
We would like to thank everyone who attended Saturday’s event. There was a mouth-watering selection of Italian motorcycles and your presence helped to make the event a success. The event raised £500.00 for the Papworth Hospital Cystic Fibrosis Unit which looked after Emma. The total raised by this and various other UKBEG events since Emma passed away in April 2004 now stands at over £38,000.00.
Always happy to turn out for this event and support such good causes and this year was better than usual - bikes, friends, 2 Lancasters and a B17. I nearly rushed over to put my credit card onto the counter when the announcement was made that there was a place available in the Lancaster for the 3pm taxi run, but even though I was only 6 feet away from the reception desk I hesitated for some reason. Maybe it was meant to be, as a couple of minutes later a couple went over and the lady signed up for the ride, they were from Australia and her dad was a Navigator on Lancs, she was over the moon about it, so I was happy I had done another good deed on the day. Rewarded myself later with a few pints of Theakstons in Scarborough, and still woke up in time to see all the great racing on Sunday at the Cock o the North Meeting. Best Weekend of the year!
There's a nice feature about Saturday's event, including pictures, in the Silksheen Photography section of the LAHC web site here
