Bit far afield for me i think... having said that anything is possible! however I do know that contractors in general out side of london are cheaper. In fact one of the reasons I think the annex business would be good here in london is there is not a great deal of local outfits that just do this, most seem to be based up north and are reasonably priced but charge a premium for work down here. I started this afternoon doing a material list but need to get exact prices on most items but you may find again that materials even are cheaper your way.... but it is (even if not practical for me to do the work) of interest to me to cost up and if nothing else help out with any advice i can give. What were your thoughts on door/window sizes? Double glazed pvc units? opening or fixed (windows that is )
You could do that for sure.. or you could bring new slab to same height and put a liquid dpm over the old part. If its not level/ flat or busting up your suggestion is better but if he then wants wood sheet material over it, it may well be easier to frame it out (giving then the option to insulate) So many options. Comes down to cost/time/expectaions and practicality i guess
Not at this stage of the game no... I pretty much work for 4 different builders most of the year as they keep me more than busy but im tired of all that and the type of work im doing so want to get me own little project off the ground. I just a time and money thing and the need to do a lot of homework that is slowing me down. Having said that, given the type of thing im thinking and market im after your services will hopefully be very much needed one day!!
