C Spanner For 1260 Mutley Hub

  1. Can anyone recommend a decent C-spanner for adjusting the eccentric hub on my 1260 Multistrada?

Fitted a new chain and sprockets last weekend including a JT carrier. The double sided C-spanner no longer fits due to a change on clearance so need to purchase a single sided one.

The one in the toolkit is made of cheese and only any good for emergency use. Need one that's longer and more substantial.

  2. Wound up buying a Laser 125mm one. It was delivered today. Not sure if by design or it's a manufacturing defect with the one I was sent but it has, or rather had, a slight offset at the junction of the handle and the C section. As the handle is a little longer than the distance to the tyre it would only fit so as to turn the hub one way, not very useful... Having two of them with opposite offset bends would be ideal but I decided to straighten it out. It now fits both ways so you can turn the hub both clockwise and anticlockwise. It just touches the tyre but is useable. The C fits the hub perfectly, feels very positive and secure. I'll try it as is and maybe trim a bit of the plastic dipped coating off the handle as that contacts the inside of the chain making for a tight fit. This maybe a positive so I'll wait and see how it is in real world use first. 6929_Packaging.jpg
