  5. Plenty of good advice above.
Going camping is different than surviving the apocalypse.
You will NEVER be dissapointed you bought the best hand made tool once the SHTF.
But, if it doesn't, and your children don't want it, something less could have worked.
    Less is more
    Simple is better.
Buy Strong and improve your skills instead of buying tools with tricks built in

There are twigs every single place you go.
Remember, when you really need it... You don't need a stove, you need a fire.

Boil water on this, and even fry. Learn to dig 2 holes connected with a tunnel connecting them for being discreet. A Knife is all you need. Everything else is just a fire with some rocks to prop up a pan... Wait, you have a flat small stainless grill packed... You are a Gourmet.

A knife is never a saw.
A saw is never a hatchet and neither is a knife.
You need a good knife first and second...

This will keep you and others alive.

  6. Anyone started hunting the local sheep

  7. @RexDangerVest a dakota fire hole is a very good way of concentrating the heat from the fire.

  8. Yes that is exactly what I was referencing... Just could not remember the name. Once you do it a few times there is no reason to remember the name as long as you remember the how.

    Thanks

  9. No, but got a pair of velcro gloves (slightly used). :no_mouth:
