Well...if companies are lining the magazines pockets for good reviews then i think Kawasaki paid in wotsits for good reviews for the zed!!
I tested an S1000R in Italy for a week before I bought one. No need for magazine reviews at all. By the end of the week I knew exactly what I was letting myself in for.
Coo - you got something for a week....i asked to test ride the z1000 and the local shop wouldnt let me...they said "we think your going to buy one second hand so get stuffed..." mind you all i needed was to sit on it...that was enough for me...!
I paid for it! It was a commercial hire deal. My friends were having a trip where they rode down there, spent a week there and then rode back. I didn't have enough holiday allowance left to do the ride down and back thing, so I flew to Milan and hired a bike when I got there. Decadent, huh?
Pasted, well part of post for privacy of poster from S1 site. ''Bought a used white S1000r Sport a few weeks back. Absolutely loving it so far. Goes in next week for the inlet valve recall, plus full Akrapovic Shorty system and an ECU remap by Hilltop.'' post from 2016. Supposed to be superb results. In my experience the S1r fuelling is superb, right down to walking speed in 1st. Just the usual slight 'hunting' feel at typical 30mph.
Seems like they dont have all the facts then...if a "specialist" says that it cant be reflashed then "e aint a specialist then is e!"
