Cannot Leave Out The Guzz

  1. The expert knowledge here might be able to help. Some years back I recall seeing pictures of a moto guzzi that had the Italian tricolours on the side panel or side of seat. I’m positive it was a special edition of some sort and not an owner custom but do you think I can find out now what it was I was looking at? Nope, not Able to despite lots of googling ( other mouthwashes are available).
    Any clues or tips anyone?

  4. The difference I've seen between the Ghezzi & Brian creations and the Magnis is the Magnis I've come across are built for the vertically challenged, most have low seat heights, with the G&Bs I'd need a step ladder

    One of the 2 (cannot remember if it was Ghezzi or Brian) had a hand in the styling of the famed (in Guzzi circles) MGS01 and it shows. One of the quotes by the Guzzi God that is Pete Roper was, I paraphrase here, "It's not very practical, you do a few laps of the track then throw most of it away"

  5. thanks for the thought @Cobbett bett, but no it was deffo an older style. im thinking it was somewhere around the older Le Mans style/type, no major fairings that I can recall and sporty, not off road . and it had a small tricolour either embroidered in to the side of the seat or on the side panel.
    @Old Jock - thats about all I can recall, although I do know I liked the look of it

  11. Good effort thanks but no it wasn’t an ‘all over’ tricolore but more of A subtle logo
     
  12. The sheer engine size of a guzzi makes me want one.

  14. Another HiCam engine (4V) similar to the MGS I posted earlier. These were built around 92 through about 99 and were the Sporti's companion, the Daytona. If I've got it right, what happened was Dr John Wittner was developing that engine and Guzzi brought out the Daytona based on it (1000cc 4v head). Then some bright spark came up with the idea of boring out the 2 valve engine to 1100 it came close to producing the same power and was a lot cheaper.

    They aren't the same to ride though the Daytona revs more and comes "on cam" the Sporti (2V), IMHO feels more linear.

    I imagine a Ducati rider would be more at home with the way the Daytona develops its horses (I've never been lucky enough to ride an older Ducati).
