Carbon Fibre Repair

Discussion in 'Technical Help' started by Pavey, May 17, 2016.

  1. That's a pretty bad one Pavey, definitely more than just the lacquer, the heats come from the inside so it'll have destroyed the resin and i bet the carbons pretty fucked too. If it were me I'd chop off the top layers and laminate new carbon over the top but it'll be very difficult to get a seamless repair unless the weaves identical and you can align it exactly. If you're gonna give it a go yourself I have loads of PTFE sheet PM me your address and I'll send you some, once you've got your carbon & resin layed up you can tape over the repair with it and get some pressure on it for a nice clean smooth finish
