I did this previously and may revert to something along those lines. This was more down to the phone running out of juice part way through the day. My then charging setup wasn't adequate to power a phone on full screen brightness along with MRA and the GPS chip all sucking power.

Ideally I would prefer wireless charging and have a setup for this from SP Connect along with all the required case etc. However, their power adapter for the wireless anti vibration mount wasn't up to providing a high enough charge rate to keep up.

Talking of phones parting ways; in my accident last year in France my better phone was doing duty, as my older one had run out of battery. My faring upper, from the headlights down and including the clocks, had been torn off by me going through it. The phone was missing from the case that was still attached to the mount. A member of this forum who was on scene found it and miraculously it was completely intact and aside from a very tiny scuff on the frame was undamaged, not even the glass screen protector was broken... I guess I was lucky in that regard. Just as well as being in hospital in France it was essential to arrange everything.

i've just edited my post, meant to say hotspot not bluetooth. That was a lucky break in a not so lucky situation.
