Read through this one....very polarized opinions...i think some have made their point, and almost in turn are looking for an argument by retaliating. Id say get a loan, if your going to hold on to the bike "forever" then what you pay in interest will be far outweighed by the value of the bike going up, even to a certain extent after youve finished servicing it and getting it sorted. For the record my overdraft slush account is actually more than my actual mortgage now, but, ive had a few friends that have not even made it to 40 so ive learned to say fuck it as what ive got in the garage doesnt even make me give a second thought about the debt.
I borrowed money from my dad when I bought my Hyperstrada. I paid him back after a couple of months as I hate owing anybody money. Plus he's retired and I'm working, earning a lot more than he is. The thing is, he's never owned a motorbike, but keeps saying to me "I've got that money there if you want to borrow it you know, I'm not using it" when refering to his savings and pushing me to buy more bikes. I wish he'd bugger off, it's like a devil on your shoulder. He's here for Christmas dinner tomorrow and I'll have to keep him out of the garage, he always asks to see some bikes when visiting. I think I'going to have to push him into some dodgy Ponzi scheme so that he can lose it and take the temptation away.
And thats the thing isnt it.....holding on to the cash and always worrying....im 50 this year coming, and when i get to 70 or 80 and maybe too old to hang on to an 1100 evo sp i can look back and say "yeah, i did that..."
Id like to think that too [Riding your desmo on my 100th birthday] @Robarano .....but its doing stuff now, when you can...
There is a bike in the south of Spain that I do not need but I fancy it. It hasn’t run for a while and I have never even seen it. I am hocked up to the eyeballs but I am possibly expecting a return on my bitcoin investments in the new year. Could somebody lend me £15000?
