Fair play, apologies if my ‘in humour’ post got mistaken for me knocking you. I’m not sure you needed to post as much as you did but happy you’ve got that off your chest. I sure if British folk have enough of a generational history they also have relatives who’ve fought died or survived wars. Not sure how relevant that would have been had my post actually been insulting. Have a nice day.
Instead of flitting about aimlessly from job to job, do you think that your family will eventually settle down to some kind of career or vocation?
I didnt take it the wrong way lol. Im just showing sometimes theres a lot involved with running a small trades based business, for all trades. Doesnt matter what the trade.
contrary to popular belief, carpentry is a skilled trade also.. most people wouldn't be best pleased if the structures we build, alter and maintain collapsed and folks were injured or killed... granted we dont have ongoing training as such but have to keep up with changes in building codes and what not.. not as expensive or time consuming as sparks and gas fitters for sure but other than that we still have all the other costs that you mentioned, yet in general are paid a great deal less... hey ho, it is what it is... some times though id just like to build something and not have to deal with sparks and plumbers.. let em come in after us and retro fit everything!!!!! their impact on our schedule and the attitude of a lot of em sucks!! none of this is a dig at you dude, just mouthing off as always!
fucken A!!!!!!! last refurb i was on i framed out a bathroom then left the plumber to it while i got on with the roof.. i came in to have a look at the end of the day and he had cut 80mm out of 5 4x2 studs in the shower cubical...i went fucken mad!!!!! called his boss and told him none of his guy cut or drill a fucken thing from now on untill they show me exactly what they intend on doing.. there was no need, he just didnt have and angle drill so attacked with a jig saw!!!! fucken muppet..... this brings me to sparkies that have no fucken tools!!! sick of lending my laser and shit.... lol... i could go on all day! (and probably will)
