yes it seems ok, arm springs back to where it should after pressing it. I will be replacing this aswel as a precaution as its only £3.
Thanks Paul, as has been said, looking for anything that might impart a "sideways" action, the base area of the "U" I spoke of, could have been responsible but nothing looks obvious/guilty there. EDIT - it's hard being remote but I think I still might be tempted to radius the sharp apex at the bottom of the "U" that is closest to the pullrod when clutch fully disengaged.
Quick update, I have looked deeper into this & still no joy really. I have taken all the clutch friction plates & drive plates out & they all look good. There is no play in the inner or outer baskets. Ive ordered the pin, bearing, lifter shaft & spring for the bottom of lifter shaft. I dont know what can cause it apart from the lifter pin being worn but i have a suspicion that when I compare it to the new one it wont be much different.
I had a good search the other day for similar cases, which almost certainly exist, but no joy - have you managed to get any response from Ducati? There are only a few suspects here, and it really shouldn't take long to find.
Ive spoken to a couple of Ducati specialists that have been very generous with listening to my fault & giving advice but non of them have had the issue in there workshop. Martin @ Ducati Manchester said to call him back tomorrow morning.
