  2. All Minis used an A series, as did the Morris Minor iirc

Early Minis used an 850 version as it was so light they thought the 1000 cc from the Minor was too lively. Cooper S had a 1275 twin carb

  3. Wolesley 16/60 is my guess.

  4. yip, yer bang on with the farina i think.
mnis where my thing when i was in me teens tho i didnt bother with a license until my early twenties. i had a bored Morris 1300 in mine. different amount of head bolts identified it apparently.
twin 1 !/4 SU's hand made manifold and center section attached to an RC4o exhaust, rally cross cam
0-60 slower than me diesel panda. :Hilarious:
60-0 a lot slower than it should be to preserve life and limb.

  5. Sounds as though it should have been quick.
Brakes were dreadful. I often got terminal fade with the 850 Countryman I cut my teeth on. Wonderful fun, even if it did have of a top speed of 68 and a 0-60 of a long weekend...

  6. all relative i guess. i think Arc is a big mini guy. i still much prefer the small cars, twice the fun with half the speed, give me a slightly :Angelic: molded chinq sporting,pand100 or mk1punto turbo over 320 anyday. superb.

  7. My 320 is a great mile guzzler though

  8. and for many years my favorite model. after a five year spell at a wee garage that attracted mainly German models.for a BMW nothing less than 6cyl cuts it.
fiat alfa guy now. love em.

  9. My missus has a Panda. Love it for short journeys and it's unbelievable in snow. No rust after 8 years. Needed a battery, which is understandable, drivers window needed a new lift mechanism.
Wasn't impressed that the lower conrtol arms went though :(

  10. yip. bit pricey for want of a ball joint init? lots of my customers have gone out and got one after borrowing mine. way over 180k on it now. quick, quiet, solid 75mpg 12years old no rust. i bought it off a customer who bought it new from a previous garage i worked at. infact it was me who PDI'd it, i was always the one to service it. its only ever had servicing and a wiper motor from new. superb.

  11. This is an eco, so anything but quick... :(

  12. Yes.
Although it could be a 15/50 - no idea of the differences...

You definitely need a pipe and trilby for that. Probably supplied as standard with the tool kit.

  18. The car on the fake book is 100% a Wolseley 16/60 or 15/60. These were badge engineered versions of the "Farina" Austin Cambridge (A55/A60). The 15/50 was an earlier car that was a badge engineered version of the ZA/ZB MG Magnette.

    I'll go get my anorak......
