  1. I have two feet in one camp and one foot in another. Me and one brother shared a triumph dolomite 1850hl for some years until I got fed up of the smell-he was a farm worker and the ‘ straw’ ( cow sh1t) he left inside got much.
Must older ( different) brother and me a later shared a Dolomite Sprint-fabulous car to drive esp in the wet. The day we bought it we checked the water level and then went up the ‘MadMile’ near Coney Hall ( public straightish road near Sparrows Den) to see if he could get it to 3 figures! WGJ866M got sold to a couple of chancers from Catford -we sold it as the chassis was tearing apart. They knew but still bought it.
My dad had a dark brown Cortina with a light brown vinyl roof. It was his bosses company car and dad bought it when it came up. My dad wasn’t mechanically very good and could never work out how to start it give the automatic choke it had. PYN858R. I hope you’ve been scrapped!

  2. Sorry, yes I meant twin carb. That phrase has gone out of the language these days so my brain wrote twin cam. Fecking fingers still spelt it wrong though...

A mate's Dad had a 1.8 Marina TC. He'd point to the "TC" on the radiator grill like it was an M badge. My dad's 2.0 Morris Ital would beat it but for bits falling off and the whole thing disintegrating into a pile of brown dust it was a dead heat.
