About Buying Category B Salvage Category B Vehicles - Copart Copart UK Limited sell a growing range of category B vehicles. In order to buy from our extensive range of category B vehicles, you must ensure that you have followed the steps below. 1. All Applicants must be a business with a registered business address 2. All Applicants must accept our Terms and Conditions of Purchase and Use To enable us to allow you to purchase Category B vehicles we will require up to date / valid copies of the following documents: Your Environmental Permit (EP) (formerly Waste Management License) (WML) / as issued by the Environment Agency. If you do not have this license and wish to obtain one please telephone the EA on 03708 506506 and ask for the ‘’Environment Management Team’’ that deals with your postcode area. Your Environment Agency Annual Subsistence Charge Invoice Your Waste Carriers License as issued by the Environment Agency. A copy of your Hazardous Waste License (unless you are a registered Member in Northern Ireland, Wales and Scotland where individual rules apply). Once you have an Environmental Permit (EP) / Waste Management License you will then need to achieve ‘Authorised Treatment Facility’ (ATF) status with the Environment Agency. Having achieved this you will then need to be set up ‘online’ with the DVLA to notify them of Certificates of Destruction (CODs) (NODs for bikes, HGVs, commercial vehicles and caravans) electronically. This can be achieved by contacting Aaron Esmonde (DVLA) on either Telephone number: 0300 1231345 or email: ‘[email protected]’. We would then require a copy of a COD that clearly shows your Environmental Permit / Waste Management License Number. We will require copies of COD’s for all CAT B vehicles purchased from us within 30 days of the Lot leaving a Copart yard. Please note: *If you are a registered Member in Scotland, Wales or Northern Ireland you must have a Waste Carriers License as issued to you by either SEPA, the NIEA or the NRW. 2 copy Company/Business Trade invoices clearly showing the FULL company name and overseas exporting business address. These cannot be hand written or office typed, must be less than 3 months old and translated into English. Copies of any overseas business entity/registration licenses clearly showing the full business name. These must be translated into English Copies of any overseas waste management licenses (if held) clearly showing the full business name and translated into English. If the above criteria us successfully met then a "Sale of Category B vehicles for Export; Buyer Compliance Certification Form" is then posted to the overseas address by regular airmail. Category B privileges may then be activated once this letter has been received back to us signed and all other documents are in order. We can refuse category B permissions at our absolute discretion
Not sure you'd find an insurer willing to allow a catB back on the road. It's often a struggle to get a CatC insured.
