Hi. Anyone know what the CRD and tricolore stripe represents on early 90s ignition keys for Ducatis and Cagivas?
There is a University one funded by Ducati since 2006, but CRD keys are from 1993 and 1995, and would Cagiva bikes have Ducati on them even if though Cagiva owned the company?
No luck finding archives but I believe it's Cagiva Research Development. They settled on CRC later which got universal use but confused things a little. https://www.ducatiforum.co.uk/threads/mystery-key.56800/
Chris think you're on the right track, The key came from a time when the Castiglioni's had the Italian brands under the Cagiva group and restarted Ducati back at Bologna
