Dunno what you'd call Marquez, then. The guy has 3 offs in practice, one at 200 mph, and is still on it. Then he is such a risk taker he manages to stuff it into the gravel all by himself. You couldn't blame him for looking for the clean pass - it was his teammate he was trying to overtake. I think Rossi's mojo has gone. Rossi had a win or crash attitude for ages when he was much younger and when he crashed, he bounced. When he finally broke his leg, he returned to reality and mortal status. Love the fact that Dovi out-qualifies him on the Ducati - and can just about outrace him too. I predict that Rossi will retire at the end of the season. He will have been whipped by Lorenzo on the same bike, and will have finished roughly equal to Dovi on the bike he thought was holding him back. Fact is, there just aren't enough competitive bikes in Moto GP. Filling the grid with CRTs may be good for the actual spectators (more bikes to look at on every lap) but makes no difference to the TV. Why should Yam only have 2 official bikes? They may as well have 4 or 6. If they gave Crutchlow the same bike as Jorge, you'd immediately have a more interesting race. Similarly, once Ducati have sorted their shit out (which they will in a year or two) you'll also have more bikes challenging at the front. What we really need is Suzuki, Aprilia, BMW and maybe KTM to join the fray in full-on factory bike status. Then you'd really have a series.
I'd say Marquez is a very talented guy, fast of that there is no doubt, but then he has been shoe horned straight into the top team he may well have been a more interesting prospect down in the middle order? but just because he pushes the bike in practice has a big off, doesn't site him as risk taker who entertains me? That could easily be put down to the over exuberance of youth, or missing his breaking point on the straight! in fairness to Marquez when he nudged out Lorenzo a few weeks back I thought yeah, finally a front runner with balls! But ten minutes later I was rolling my eyes as he attempted to apologise to Jorge, he should have been fuck it you left the door open pal! See ya in two weeks! And for all Valentino may be passed it, I've never seen him apologise for anything on track be it Biaggi, gibernau, or Lorenzo! He much like simoncelli is the only racer capable of the 'All or nothing! without the reliance on speed! i hope your right glid and other manufactures do join the Frey, at the moment it just seems to be a little bit of a precession coupled with an "After you sir" mentality. I also think Pedrosa could of had Lorenzo easily a couple of times early on, but spent too much time thinking about where and how instead of just doing it! ( Or racing as it used to be known ).
a few bad races and rossi is all washed up...some cry - just lolling at this.. cals ok but he could do with a charisma injection as im just not keen on his persona and evwn tho hes a brit I dont find myself cheering for him as much as I should give rossi time crikey...this is a typical british attitude lol..limited testing rules and on a fundamentally different bike to the one he left 2 years ago but yes he is knocking on... fact - the bikes are far too well behaved. its more a battle lf electronics now than raw talent. gone are the days of tyre shredding brute force. ... laying down massive darkies into bends..and losing the back end.. its by and large just too clinical
Well, I'm not sure. If all the bikes were the same and talent made no difference, then the racing would be a lot closer. All the Hondas and the Yams would be together. So Bradl would be keeping up with Marquez and Pedders, and Rossi would have no problem following Lorenzo. I still think the rider is making a massive difference.
Ar not sure I'd consider Rossi crashing as Dovi doinghim in a race. Dovi seems to be doing pretty well in qually
