Dark Thoughts!

  1. I’m lucky enough to own several bikes, some faired and some unfaired and I don’t notice a difference between riding any of them but i suppose I’m used to changing between bikes now. Just take your time for the first few rides out until you feel comfortable with it.

  2. With a heavier bike, I usually find the sweet spot on the side of the bike where I can lean it towards me a bit & lean into it while moving it around. Usually with left hand on the bars and right hand on the side of the seat (or seat strap, rack, etc). Fairing or not is all the same.

  3. Too cold, got a car for that, with heated seats and steering wheel ;)

(And yes I could buy a V4 MS but still wouldn’t ride it in this weather :joy:)

but back to the question I don’t ride on August bank holiday weekend. Going back through my many bikes, I’ve either been knocked off, had it nicked, been reversed into parked or dropped it off the paddock stand so that weekend is a two wheeled no go zone for me.

  4. I have had all sorts over the years and went from a zzr1100 (fat heavy thing) to a 2012 Multistrada a couple of years ago. I found the height and weight quite intimidating for the first few weeks. It just felt massive. Now I just get on and chuck it around like any other bike. Just don’t over think it and move it like any other bike and you will be fine.

  5. You are going to just pick a ride on some quieter roads ,and i would say fifty miles or more ,get out on the bike and come back with a huge grin on your face ,all doubts and worries dispelled, and very quickly planning your next ride ,
look forward to reading how you get on , and if you have not already ,see where your nearest Ducati owners club meets, go along and enjoy the craic and join the club ,

  6. Hi,
More than once I have got togged up and not ridden.
Gut feeling, 6th sense or dark thoughts call it what you like.

For me its a hobby so I don't have to do it and if something says no, I listen.
    Be in the moment.

    Kindest Regards
