I think the point he’s try to convey is that if he wants to look at the forum at work, there’s a high risk that images of scanty clad ladies are then broadcast about the office. In the modern woke/me too work place this would go down like a lead P45.
Usually these advertisements are based on browsing history and if there’s nothing they can grab to indicate suitable advertisements then they just put something random up from advertisers who have said they want to advertise. The forum owner can block specific advertisers. if you think advertisements for swimsuits are images of scantily clad women… Next thing you know, women will be showing their ankles. The OP seemed to equate adverts for swimming costumes (or maybe even, heaven forbid, lingerie) with soft porn. He must have loved the Littlewoods catalogue back in the day…
DuckDuck Go gives you the same advert free experience as subscribing. I haven't resubscribed as I'm not on here as much as I once was and haven't anything to sell at the moment.
5 quid. It’s nothing! This forum will save you that multiple times over. I can’t believe people won’t pay 5 quid to get rid of the tedious adverts. Then spend ages on a thread about it.
It’s how it’s viewed / perceived by on lookers in the workplace. That’s the point. Personally I think the ads, banners and pop ups are pretty lame and a throw back to the grim old dial up and pop up days of the 90s. Use an ad blocker.
I don't really see the issue with a naked body tbh. A throwback to Victorian dad. My daughter goes out at night wearing little more than a bikini these days and I'm afraid to say anything except "please please be careful and stick together"
I would’ve thought they could be adult enough to realise that the advertisements are not personally crafted by the site owners…
That reminded me of what happened to my (female) friend. A few years ago she was at a christening when a guy started chatting her up, and while trying to impress her he tried to show her his company website on his phone. This is a screenshot of the text she sent to me about how that went…..
