Early successful British racing cars were Napiers, and they were painted Napier Green. Hence BRG.

 

Indeed, Napier does get a mention in the book -

"Eventually a compromise was reached with the organizers and competing clubs agreeing that the 'British' Gordon Bennett Cup of 1903 could be held in Athy , a market town in County Kildare in the Republic of Ireland, some 50 miles (80km) south-west of Dublin. In Gratitude to the Irish, the British team painted its car in a shamrock green livery and thus was created 'British' racing green."

After that the Brits and Irish went to the Isle of Man in 1904 and Brooklands was built and opened to the public in June 1907.

So there is the history of British Racing Green. Also in the book the history behind racing terms like the "paddock" - because it was actually a paddock and the flags were used in horse racing.

 

And they are all sold out....surprised? Not at all, most wont ever see a road.

 

Surely the only riding mode it will use is NOT!
