me too! i left it as it was as I felt I couldn't improve on it! I looked for ages to find some indicators that I liked… cheap ones were plastic, and any I did like were very expensive… So i used some of the cheap but very bright tiny ones that have the advantage they can be seen from the front, back and sides.
well it didn’t start first time unfortunately… I hooked up the software and it showed some error codes, but they could have been there from before so I cleared them. It immediately came up with a TPD fault code and after a bit of checking I had 2V instead of 5V on the live… I did struggle to find the fault… Then a mate came and he checked and the problem was I had transposed the wires on the CPS! The software is pretty good! we were able to remove the bank angle sensor and the muffler control valve in the software. After clearing the faults it started to a nice even tickover.
It doesn't look like your bike, it's not orange, who are you, and what have you done with Buzzer? ;-)
Don't worry, its all OK Well... apart from a final shake down and tighten, its finished. I am ahead of time this year as a lot of February will be taken up with a holiday. I will post a video of how it sounds once on the road. I really need to sell a couple of bikes now before I do another as I am at capacity in the garage!
Fantastic!! If you're going to sell any of them would you part with the Buell Cyclone custom and how much would it be?
Its probably going to be the Guzzi and one of the Ducati's that go... I will pop them on Ebay soon as I am back from holiday
Garage clean day so they are all outside.... here is the line-up. My wife has said she is going to book me in for therapy soon...
well it doesn’t always go to plan… I took the bike for MOT early April and the ride lasted 250 meters… the bike started to backfire. I limped home and it got so bad as I rode up the street three people came out as they thought it was gun shots! That triggered some diagnostics… LOTS of diagnosis! I thought it was a cam position sensor, and ordered a new one which took a week to come… It wasn’t that. then I thought it was the ECU… swapped it with a known good one… and so it went on. in the end I took the injectors out and spotted the front one was badly swelled! I thought this is it! I ordered one and that took another week to come… Fitted it.. same, still running rough and backfiring. In desperation I ordered a rear injector, another week… Fitted it the day before we went on holiday so I didn’t have time to test it. Came back and took it up the road! Fixed! it was the rear injector. So off to MOT. I get there and notice a bad oil leak… on investigation its the “O” ring at the top of the pushrod tube not in correctly. Clearly my fault, so its engine out, head off and replace the “O” ring… another week waiting for parts! To be continued!
well its finally on the road and running well! I have done 300 miles now, the bike goes really well with around 103 BHP and has an amazing spread of torque. the handling and brakes are also superb! I wasn't able to take much weight out of this build so I recon its around 170 KG dry The hunt is on for a bike for next winters build!
