1199 Ducati 899 - 959 - 1199 - 1299 Modifications - What Have You Done To Yours?

  1. Yes, the 4" section running from the lever to the reservoir , the domed nut on the underside of the reservoir rubs on the hose, and where the hose runs over the yolk it rubs. Mines done about 5000 miles, but the reservoir shakes like hell on the Panis!

  3. New clip on bars for my 899. Does anyone have the weight and length of the stock bars?

  4. I recall @Nelson loosing about 5 Lbs swapping the subframe on an 899. Why the difference?

I'm keen to understand what the weight savings would be on a 959. Might be the first thing I do [Bike is already very tricked up]

  5. The 899 one is made from Bismarck's anchor!

  6. Wonder what the 959 one weighs... Best take if off and weigh it I suppose...

  7. The 899 one weighed in at 3.85kg its aftermarket replacement is 1.2kg.
I believe the 1199 sub-frame is cast ali rather than tubular steel and can be made to fit. I think @simmytt has some experience here.
@comesunt lets be seeing this new bike then....

  8. The 899 and 1199 tanks are different. To fit a 1199 tank subframe on an 899, either use the 1199 tank or make some custom brackets to make it fit. One person on the 899panigale.com forum said he just reversed some bracket and used longer bolts.

  9. 899/959 subframes are the same and are made of lead filled steel . 11/1299 are cast ali and a lot lighter and will bolt straight on but you will need to make some kind of mounting point for the rear of the fuel tank to bolt to. If its a track bike i would go for a race ali subframe.

  12. Pretty much.
I had to do a bit of jiggery pokery with a longer bolt to connect the tank to the tank bracket, nothing major.
Also the tank has to back into the sub-frame as the light unit is slightly narrower.
    Easy peasy...:upyeah:

  13. Hello. I've got a Sato Racing link on my 959, to drop the seat height, an 1199 seat to drop the seat height and I have a shortened re-welded side stand from an 1199 going on it. As I am Dani Pedrosa size.

Has anyone else lowered their Panigale? Am trying to work out if I need to balance out the front end a bit. Handling seems ok so far. I understand there may be radiator clearance issues if I drop the front?

My 959 is one of the Limited Edition ones, so has the DP brake guard, double bubble screen and underslung Akras. I've removed the quick release fuel cap, cos London innit. Don't want a match down the tank.
Future plans are to put some R&G protection on it in case of a woopsie.

Also have some special custom decals going on...

  15. Rebuilt forks, new radiators and heat protection for fan housing, then R&G protection, which is crap because the bottom one its lop sided, so misses 15mm of rad on one side, so I nuked em and ordered Evotech. Shame cause R&G has better air flow through expanded mesh.

  16. Comfort rear seat. You have a very brave pillion, haha

  17. Fitted the DP rearsets last night. Bit of a pain in the arse but got there

I measured them at 10mm further forward and 25mm higher in the lowest setting for anyone who may be interested.

I will have to have a few test rides to get the positioning how I want them. Adjusting the gear side is a bit of a joke!
