That's kind of the point with the Multistrada though isn't it? If you wanted a lightweight, 'pure' riding experience, I doubt you'd be buying a tall, wide, super comfy tech fest like all the moden ADV bikes. I mean, is the 1260 really capable of anything the older 2010 model isn't? It just gets more toys that make it a teeeeny bit faster/comfier/easier/fancier each year. I guess it seems the perfect bike in the range for all the new gizmo's. Gotta keep up with the Joneses.

I actually got first hand confirmation of that from a nice policeman once, you are correct. The VW does not agree though. Thankfully a light press of the throttle overwrites it's overbearing Germanic nature without disengaging the cruise.
