So; Coke, hoes, prime meaty sausage, milk maids, hard standing, service facilities complete with belt tensioning software/tools...all for £25 per night. I'm moving in...
The misses has asked if you had fresh milk in other B&Bs how was it kept in the room? Mini fridge, flask, sealed tupperware beaker or just a small jug?
DC7573 Maytag 173cm Drying Cabinet | Appliance City ronnie, check out the Maytag drying cabinet for the garage, I've had one for years and it works really well. It uses very little electric as well. Guided rides? Spend some time doing recce's of the local roads and loop a day ride together, a pub lunch and cream tea to finish. Have a look at Bikers Retreat, Trem Hyfryd Guest House, Dolgellau, North Wales, UK Nige is a good friend of mine, he's been doing it for years and I'm sure he'd be happy to give you a few pointers.
I looked at that, but was hoping to sort him out a cheaper, larger solution. Just waiting to hear from suppliers.
Yes Harry is familiar with seaside rescue. The owners must be the best thing and the warm welcome (which won't be amiss . ) because without that the rest won't be enough I dont want to sit in my room of an evening I want to be part of your family
From the view you posted I can see why you said 7mins to the beach, nice little stroll down Boscawen road into town center.
Couldn't agree more with what Drinky said about the Bikers Retreat. Nige and Tiv are now friends of mine too, after repeated visits for many years. They do it really well, and their set-up would be worth looking at. Their knowledge of the roads is amazing, and their riding skills are tip-top. Going out with them on tour rides, or following their recommendations is some of the best riding I've ever done. The Bikers Retreat also has a fully stocked bar which is great for a social and the after-ride bull-shitting!!!!
Have to agree with He11cat decent tea and coffee, there is nothing worse than not having brew making facilities, fresh towels, mod con availabilities such as wi-fi connection, ipod docking station charging unit, usb adapater facilities for laptops......ok may be an initial expense but people use these all the time! Oh and a nice smelling room, nothing worse than staying somewhere that smells fiesty! Also one of my pet hates from a maintenance point of view is black moldy sealent around baths and showers!! Clean Crisp looking bedding on a decent size double/king bed!! Cracking full english breakfast with a cup of yorkshire tea! - May sound a little fussy/shallow but these are all the things I pick up on when I stay anywhere!! The most important thing is a completely friendly happy atmosphere as this is what appeals to your guests and this is why they will return! Good luck with your venture and no doubt myself and duke1276 will pay a visit, my brother lives in Millbrook in Cornwall and we are due a visit sometime soon!
I visited their site. Certainly something to aim for. Although we don't have a bar and evening meals, they are 4 - 5 mins walk away. That is certainly the standard we are aiming for. I detest people assuming I have lower standards because I ride bikes and wear leathers. I expect good service and don't mind paying for it. We won't have large gardens, but we have a 3 mile sandy beach instead for evening walks at sunset. Unfortunately I don't have local experiance of rides and pubs yet. That is the reason I am moving there. I have driven the roads for years and wished I had my bike. I am sure that local Ducatisti will guide me and I will ensure these are written up for guests. I have a stash of old phone chargers should someone forget theirs. I also have a couple of laptops for people to borrow to stay in touch with the world and ensure others are jealous of your break. I've been so pleased with your responses thank you. Very little has suprised us. Almost all of the suggestions are what we have already planned. We not only want you to visit, we want you to come back.
You have detailed everthing from which mobile phone chargers to which type of tea and milk in the rooms. What I am suprised at is nobody has detailed breakfast other than good sausages. What would you like to see on the table and on the plate?
Table wise a large one so everybody can sit around it and chat if it's biker related then there is always something to say. I do like a cafetierre of nice coffee Keep it simple
Oh, we are also considering hiring out our Camper Surf Bus on a daily rate probably £50-75 a day (not overnight camping, those go for £100/night) for those that want to explore cornwall in style. Its moden one still aircooled engine, but has disk brakes, fuel injected engine, heater etc and will come with picnic hamper pack, Body boards (maybe a surf board). I am trying to gauge interest to determine if it would be something people would want. Let me know what you think please.
I found a company that does camper hire insurance. Fully comp insurance on anyone over 25 with a full licence wasn't too bad actually. However, I need about 30 days hire per year to ensure it covers insurance, maintenance and servicing etc.
