1098 Dullest Thread Ever?

Discussion in '848 / 1098 / 1198' started by Nervy, Sep 4, 2017.

  1. We want cheap, wotsits are for bartering with Desmosedici's - far too valuable for parts! :)

  2. Bit dull, this. Oh well.

  9. Nice discs!
Those are standard 1098R wheels. Forged aluminium.

  10. Just light reflecting on it. Not a mark.

  11. Thank you mate.

So, are they worth much? Pretty sure I overpaid for them, then.

  12. They are branded Marchesini - lighter than standard non-R wheels.

Rearsets do not appear to be OEM judging from the levers and pegs but the brackets could be.

  13. Thank you mate. Are any of these things good things, biscuit-fund wise?

  14. I will give you £50 for the lot plus a bag of watsits and some haribos :)

  15. If you dont get at least £1k for those wheels n discs secondhand, I'd be surprised. Prob more.

The rearsets are v nice too. Look a bit like Lighttech but not sure.

ECU's are always handy to have as spares and the Desmo stuff is prob worth more than all the rest. Such are the inflated prices for desmo stuff.

Had i still my 1198, those wheels would be mine by now. Sigh.

Dont let this lot con you. The wotsits are all just cheesy puffs fundementally.

That stuff is worth stuff. Alas I dont need any of it. Good luck :)

  17. Is that the standard ECU from the 1098R for the standard cans?
If so I might be interested. How much are you thinking?
I need to get my bike MOT'd soon so might need to switch my race cans back to the standard cans for it.

  18. Also, it isn't an ABS ring fitted to the wheels. It is a Nemesis traction control speed trigger wheel.
    Retail at £90

  19. Hiya- yes, it is. I've no idea on price I'm afraid. There's one of ebay in America for about £900 which seems nuts to me. Drop me a line and we'll have a chat about a fairer price.

  20. Ah, brilliant. Thank you Double D!
