Engine Warning Light At Launch - 999

  1. Do you know how to sideload on your Kindle?

  2. with mixed success.

Would the kids Tesco Hudl be better?

    Or my phone is Android?

  3. Can't get the Hudl till tomorrow.

In the meantime I installed XP mode on win 7. When I install the BT device it shows as Com A as outgoing and Com B as incoming. Hence 2 com ports. Is this right?

  4. Ok, Hudl connect on BT, how does the software connect?

It says "connect ELM" but I don't see how.

  5. I HAVE LIFE!!!!

  6. It says 'ELM OK, Try ignition OFF/ON,Check your wires".

I have a solid red on left, green and orange on right slightly blinking.

  7. It does flash up very quickly to say "this ECU is not compliant" then goes back to message above.

  8. This is my ECU. Anyone any ideas???

  9. Ignition off, Red lead to battery +ve black fly lead to good earth.
Launch Scanm5x. Click setting. Click clear ELM. Click Clear Elm-BT. If it gives you the option select your BT device.

    Ignition on.

    Should go through connection process.

  10. Yes, did all that. Connect to ELM is ok it seems.

  11. Number of ELM registered:0
Sorry, this ELM is not compliant with the original ELM.

  12. Number of ELM registered:1
Sorry, this ELM is not compliant with the original ELM.

  13. Update: due to @chrisw being awesome I have now managed to connect and reset the service indicator, and the bike still starts!

    2 things:
1: With the ScanM5X software how do I retrieve past errors to see what the engine warning light error was?
2: I can't seem to change it from "Cons" in the bottom right of the dash. Isn't that just the right button on the dash to cycle through the bottom right display?

  14. Cons- put some fuel in your tank. Comes on when fuel light on

  15. Click the DTC button for the codes

  16. Ok, I have a few:
    P0105 invalid signal
    P0110 invalid signal
    P0335 no signal
    P0500 invalid signal
    U165B no signal

As I can't see when these occurred do I "Erase DTC" and go for a ride and check again after the next occurrence?

  17. P0105 = barometric pressure sensor. This sensor is built into the dash. A common EOBD fault light on IAW59M ECU bikes. Usually clears by itself after a few ignition cycles.

p0110 = air temp sensor. This is on the side of the headlight unit. May indicate a faulty unit.

P0335 = crank position sensor. Could be caused by repeated attempts to start bike.

P0500 = speed sensor. Could be linked to above.

U165B is a DUCATI specific code that I have yet to ID. Again could be linked to Non-starting. Suspect it may be a canbus or communication error (U0165 = Lost Communication)

Clear the codes and see if the EOBD light returns. If it stays on the use the right dash button and ignition to bring up the actual codes.
