959 Euro 4 Exhaust Swap

Discussion in 'Panigale' started by Jolley, May 22, 2016.

  1. I don't do tracks so noise isn't a factor.

I was reading on bakebook some comments from people asking Sc to make a pipe for the 1299. Why, I've no idea.

  2. Actually, I lied! I just dug out the advert I placed when I sold it in 2010. It was only £11k.....

  3. They do make an incomes one that fits the 1299....
    PANIGALE 1199/1199R/1299/R/S/959GP2 EXHAUST SYSTEMS

  4. If you're at 103 what's the maximum?

I was sure I seen the AR at around a grand, I must have been buying 2.....doh :Bucktooth:

  5. That was an obsession. Best of mods though, I won't ask what you sold it for.

  6. Maximum? As is the loudest you can have and go on track? Some places have 105 and 108dB days.
If you mean what is the maximum an exhaust can get to, I have heard rumors of that Austin racing system hittin 119dB, I think...

  7. Couldn't sell it like that for £10k.... Or even £9k! So I stripped the Ohlins, Termis, Nemesis off, sold those bits for £3k and the rest of the bike for £7k.

(I'm trying to stop myself doing it to the 959.....)

  8. The stock 959 doesn't need much though, just suspension, pipes, bit of carbon, tail tidy, bin the rear pegs. My original 3 grand is now up a grand or two. Ok you can get into wheels and other stuff, but for me, can't see the value for the road, except the bling effect.

But if that's what makes you tick, why not. It's your money to enjoy.

  10. The exhaust on my brothers bike was nowhere near £700.
If you pay £'s directly Rich will do a deal.
They were listed on eBay for around £550 not long ago

  11. They are £550 on his site as well now, but when I ordered mine in May it was £670. I'm even more pleased I cancelled now, because I'd be a bit miffed if I paid £200 more! image.jpeg

  12. The cost wasn't really the consideration, it was about the look for me. The fact that it looks OE also gets me some leeway on trackday sound testing too. If you don't do trackdays and don't want the under belly look, the Austin Racing stuff is great looking. It just didn't tick the boxes I needed it to.

  13. Here's one from Racefit.

  14. Hmm not a fan... At all! Each to their own of course! Personally think it looks tasteless. I'm sure it's better bang for buck than the Akrapovic

  15. I like the clean pipe up to the can. Looks to have an indent to prevent your heel hitting the pipe. Maybe just a shadow.

  16. Got my akrapovic and hanger for £400 so couldn't refuse really

Looks good in the flesh and was a 5 minute job . Doesn't sound much different - slightly better and saved a couple of kilos but does look better I think

  17. Switch to US959/UK1299 is still the best option in terms of looks/sound/value/getting on a uk trackday if you ask me.... But then, I would say that!

  18. Cheap, well done on that deal. Was looking at them at the weekend. Probably free now with the bike, but I liked them, a lot finer looking than stock.

  19. i ordered my bike in march before the exhaust deal was on but i got it for £12500 with free first service, rear seat cowl and some carbon 20% off so worked out better off especially getting the pipe for £400

the price sticker was still on the box from riders bristol for £1312 and the hanger is £70 so pleased

theres a couple of 1299/ US 959 exhausts recently came up for sale which i would have probably went for had i not got this but I'm well pleased with the bike as it is now.

also the chain lube constantly melting on the underbelly exhaust would get on my nerves...

  20. Just fitted the SC Project. It's bloody fantastic IMO. Love it. That's me finished now, spent enough on it. Sounds good. image.jpeg
