I have 2021 V4S Multi with 8700 miles. Unless I leave the bike connected to an Optimate, the battery will discharge within 48 hours. I have owned the bike 1 year, this is the second battery (lead acid supplied by Ducati HAILSHAM). I have covered fewer than 1000 miles with the bike. The bike has no aftermarket accessories connected. Is this experience typical to that of other owners, what has been proven to resolve this? I have a trip to Europe planned soon, but the bike will be stood for several days at my destination, without access to power. I am reluctant to take the bike because of this issue.
Not my experience with same bike and year. Try and pick up a Digital Multimeter (anywhere from 5 quid to 50) and check current draw. You shall need to disconect one of the termnails and route the feed throught the meter to see current/watts drain
Mine is a 2021 V4S with 30K miles and not had this problem, I did change that battery in 2025 as it died suddenly, both batteries are the standard OE Yuasa lead acid ones. Check the battery terminals for any extra wires fitted, could be a an old dying tracker device hidden somewhere?
I've got a 24 model with Data tool tracker and the app reports low voltage after 5 - 7 days. Already replaced the OEM battery just after 1 year with another manufacturer.
If you on tour and using the bike every day it should be fine. I had to replace my original battery after about a year. I keep it on a tender if I am not using it for more than a few days and I have a tracker
As others have said it sounds like there is a tracker on it somewhere running the battery down. I had a similar issue with a tracker I didn’t know was fitted on one of my bikes.
