The swallow may fly south with the sun or the house martin or the plumber may seek warmer climes in winter yet these are not strangers to our land.
A scientific mind asks questions rather than relies on faith (such as religion, magic, etc). It doesn't need any sophisticated tools to dis-prove divining, just pick up some divining rods, set up some water obstacles and try it yourself.
I do have a scientific mind, I don't rely on faith! I have tried divining, and it worked for me, have you tried it?
Yes, and it was a load of twoddle So how do you explain that it didn't work for me? was I using the wrong equipment?!
Google the Munich experiments and the subsequent re analysis of the experimental data. From the conclusion of the re analysis:
Have you been reading this thread? You could start with the link helpfully given by Gregotch in post #11. So far, it is not a question of trying to detect some means by which divining works - it is a question of carrying out proper scientific experiments to discover whether divining actually does work. The answer is no. A great number of those people who claim that it works have had a vast number of opportunities to demonstrate it, but have always failed comprehensively. If any practitioners of divining ever manages to demonstrate* that it works, then there will be a phenomenon to study. So far, there simply isn't. * As I pointed out, simply saying "I claimed to detect water here and there actually was water here" does not constitute proof of anything.
