Managed to get the stickers applied to the Multi last week. Very happy.

Okay so it's the morning after what was an unsatisfactory and disappointing production for many but the fact remains after all the speculation, the new bikes for 2018 have been presented to the public. Who is going to have what ?
I'll start as I put a deposit down on the Panigale V4 Speciale this morning although I'm not holding out a huge amount of hope as I am 1 of 4 people to do so at Moto Rapido since 27th October. Too soon to quantify allocations to dealers so it's a waiting game for the moment. Andy

5 November 2017, Milan (Italy) – Titled "Sinfonia Italiana" ("Italian Symphony"), the Ducati World Première 2018 gave the press and thousands of eager fans a preview of 4 new motorcycles that will be on show at EICMA 2017 from 9 to 12 November at the Milano-Rho trade fair centre.

This global event was held in the spectacular setting of the Linear Ciak theatre in Milan on the evening of Sunday 5th November. For anyone interested here's a short amateur comparison of the two bikes....

The first thing that hits you in the face when looking at the RSV4 is the compact size of it, more like a 600 supersport than a 180bhp superbike, the second thing is its ride height when you climb onboard, its quite a bit taller in the saddle than the long and low 999 and also squatter and more dense, where the 999 has a waisted midriff the RSV is fuller, but although I am roughly 5'10'' and 13.5 stone it doesn't really feel cramped .

Starting is different as well, you need to keep a finger on the starter until it catches unlike the one touch 999,and when it does start the noise is loud (Akrapovic system),and not dissimilar to the 999 but with a more fulsome and addictive raspy edge to it. Pulling away and 1st gear engages with a clunk ,the cable clutch feels quite light and gear selection is positive, although finding neutral at a standstill is not as easy as it should be,also in the cockpit display...

A while ago, I posted a thread after purchasing an alloy fuel tank for my 1098R. It was a blank canvas and I was unsure which way to go with painting it before fitting it to the bike.

After canvassing some opinions, here were the options -

Keep it bare alloy
Paint a stripe as per the 1198SP (by far the most popular option, but I couldn't see it suiting the 'R' colour scheme)
Paint it red as per the standard tank (I liked the idea of it looking standard, but it seemed a shame to waste the alloy of the tank)
Stu - @Exige sowed a seed in my head about going along the lines of the 1199R tank. I liked the design but was concerned about the visible alloy working with the 1098R red / white scheme.
So, I decided to give the 1199R design a try (I could always paint it plain red down the line if I wasn't happy with the end result), and toddled off to see my friend to mess about with some masking lines and see if we could come up with a design I was happy with. After trying...

Got the touring pack, urban pack and full Termi (my bad).
Got it all home, took Panniers off and went for a hoon about, forgot how much fun the Multi can be

Today I reached another milestone in my life, after leaving school at 15 I started work as an apprentice joiner at Chatsworth Estate, at 21 I took my hgv class one test and started lorry driving, after a couple of years doing uk work I did a few years taking frozen food over land to Kuwait and Qatar, then I bought my own lorry running out of the local quarries in the peak district to construction sites and motorway construction finishing up running three lorries of my own, this became too much with two children growing up and having no family life the decision to sell the lorries was made and within a very short time of this all three lorries were sold and I returned to joinery, being self employed finding my own work both joinery and building which I have continued until today, after 49 1/2 years in the construction and haulage industries I have officially retired today at a youthful 65. So now I shall start to cut back my hours and hopefully spend a bit more time on the bikes and...

Hi chaps as some of you know I bought a barn find sps in a bit of a state back in the summer with the intention of stripping it and rebuilding it to a nice useable condition with a bit of touring and a few track days in mind , it's a 2001 model with ohlins front and rear totally standard other than rear sets. Not got any pics of the bike yet but here's a start of the engine out at louigi motos going for a full blue print, super finished gearbox, crank and cams, balanced crank and rods, mild porting to the heads full set up and map when it's back together. Here's the pics....

The World Ducati Week is back for 2018! Every two years, the largest Ducati rally in the world brings together thousands of enthusiasts, as shown by the approximately 81,000 visitors who animated the last edition.

The 10th WDW dates are: 20, 21 and 22 July, and as a tradition, it will be at the "Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli", Misano Adriatico (Italy).

All details of the event will soon be available on the official Ducati website, meanwhile, enthusiasts can already save the calendar date and schedule attendance for WDW2018.

My 2007 VTR1000 SP2 for sale.

8900 miles, full service history, both keys. Nothing needs doing.

All history present including original sales invoice from Castle Honda.

Fresh Dunlops D212 front and rear.

I bought this in May after quite a search. Previous owner was an elderly chap who had owned it since 09/2007.

All original, doesn't look like it's ever been dropped or had any paint at all even.

I took the plastics off to give it a clean but to be honest it didn't need it.

I'm quite fussy and there's no way this is "like new" like some can claim, but it is very good.

A few stone chips etc and and some marking where the rear seat panel is fitted but nothing to take away the overall appeal.

I can take some more pictures with the plastics on if anyone is interested.

Only selling as I've finally realised I'm too old to ride these things! Can't bear to sell the SPS though.

£9,000 ovno. Thought I'd try it on here before eBay.

Customers visiting Ducati dealers can scrap their old helmet and receive a £100 contribution for the purchase of a Ducati helmet by Arai


Ducati UK has launched a new helmet replacement campaign from now until the end of December 2017.

A helmet is one of the most important pieces of safety equipment we wear, however, as time goes on helmets become loose and the effectiveness of the protection can be reduced.

Customers can bring an old full face helmet to selected Ducati dealers and trade it in (it does not need to be a Ducati branded helmet) for a new Ducati helmet by Arai and receive a £100 contribution towards the new one.
