1199 Biketrac... Thank God!
Got a call 00:45 on Thursday am from Biketrac saying my bike was being stolen, checked out garage and yep it had gone! They said it was in a carpark 2 mins away so I went to get it, not recommended and all that, I called the police on the way (another story). Anyway keeping it brief 2 'hoodies' were with my bike and ran off as I approached as I said the police were on their way. Luckily I got my bike back in the garage all within 15 mins of first call from Biketrac. Police eventually turned up 25 mins after I called them. Anyway, if you don't have it (or similar) fitted, get it fitted, I was lucky but the system certainly made my luck. Keep safe. This was in Southampton, Hampshire so up the security if you are in that area - I have! Cheers. -
1200 DVT It's Goodbye From Me...
After weeks of drooling over the new KTM Adventure S I've finally taken the plunge and done the evil deed.
Had my 1200 DVT for 20 months and it's been a pleasure to own and ride. Had only minor niggles, did 13K miles and she never let me down. Great bike!
I've got a few things to sell if anyone's interested:
Navihalter
Carbon screen
Panniers (never used) locks are out, come with the footrest brackets and rubber cushions.
Top box rack to fit Ducati top box
(I bought all the parts separately, as I didn't want their top box)
Evotech frame crash bungs (never fitted, still in bag)
Pannier innerbags for 2013 model.
(Bought them off a mate but never used them- so can't vouch for how well they fit the DVT panniers)
PM if you're interested in any of the above.
I've not been following the forum for a little while, but I can say it's been the best bike forum I've ever come across - there's certainly nothing like this for KTM!
If anyone is interested in comparing, I've had the KTM... -
Suzuki Rg500
So, I've been restoring this RG500 since buying it as a hybrid, unloved thing about 3 years ago.
Everything as been replaced with either good used, or brand new Suzuki Genuine where possible. It's been a right challenge!
Spec as follows :
Engine, 58.5mm custom wossner Pistons, slightly decked barrels to correct port timing, welded and reprofiled head to get optimum squish volume, rebuilt cranks, uprated MPE 1st/2nd/6th gears with undercut dogs, performance fabrications billet disc valve covers, Genuine sugaya exhausts, nitron shock, rebuilt forks, rebuilt brakes, every bearing replaced in chassis and engine, genuine new cables, pipes, hoses, oil lines, clips, fasteners either replated or replaced mostly with gen Suzuki parts, new fuel tap, genuine bodywork which has been repainted.. list is endless!
Took it for its 1st MOT yesterday and it seriously shifts! Smooth as silk!
Lot of 2 stroke talk on here so thought you guys might appreciate this one.

Hello And Morning All!
HI All,
After a few years of on/off lurking around on here I thought I'd start a newbie thread to formally introduce myself to you all. I've always loved Ducatis, and I used to own an 1199 Panigale from 2013, then earlier this year traded it in for a 1299 with a Tricolore colour scheme.
I love the 1299, a lot more refined than the 1199, but either way the Panigale to me is one of the sexiest bikes on the planet! I could sit and stare for ages!
However, I also like getting my spanners working in my spare time, which the newer bikes don't really need. So i also decided to buy a 1098R which has been in someones living room since 2013, off road for the past 4 years. The plan for my project is to get it back to original and also back in a condition where it can ride on the road so servicing, belts, a full thorough check etc!
Ill most likely create a full rebuild thread for the 1098R once I get started, but I'll attach some pics of the 1299 in the mean time... (sorry don't have any... -
A New Desmo Fan From Germany
Hi Folks,
Just wanted to say hello to this Duc community.
I have been dreaming of riding one of those Ducatis since I turned 18.
Once I had my license I went to our local dealer (it was last century) and it was a big disappointment, with 1,91m I was too big for those beautiful bikes at that time.
A few years back I went for another test ride to a Duc dealer, this time it was a La Strada Pikes Peak and this time size was not an issue and the power was incredible, a few weeks later I got my first Ducati.
I loved to ride the bike and did quite some modifications to it (e.g. exhaust, clean tail, etc.) however it didn't take long and the problems started: failing rear brake, failing ABS, failing fuel sensor and all of that with less than 3000km.
At a certain moment I was fed up with it and sold it and got myself a new BMW R1200 LC Adventure and until now (about 5000KM) no issue at all...
However two weeks ago I got the opportunity to see a 2008 Desmosedici RR (No.1225 with 2575 km... -

999 999r On The Way!
I'm pleased to say that after a fairly long search I have found and placed a deposit on a suitable 999R which work permitting I will be collecting the 1st week in August, combined with a quick visit to the delights of Hamburg after dark!!!!
I'm very much looking forward to riding it back to back with my S mono nero in order to try and justify to myself (and my gf) the 100% increase in price. Big thanks to Claus Carstens at Ducati Schleswig-Holstein for convincing its previous owner to part with it! -
1098 First Experience Out On The 1098
As the title says. I found some time this weekend to finally get the 1st ride out on the 1098.
It started with a leisurely ride to a mates house across town to show off the stunning redness!
That was a bad mistake as a i soon realised Ducati and town traffic is not best suited.
So by the time i got there i actually thought what have i done why did i think i could go a little more exotic and why did i purchase this machine!
Then i thought OK time to take it home and on doing so took a nice country B road in. Then after 45 minutes! OMG I was in love! I just did not wanna stop and go home. The sheer power and torque and overall handling felt amazing! Once i very slowly started to acclimatise myself and stopped trying to ride the 1098 like i used to ride the GSXr! It just clicks and you feel at home and at ease on the Ducati albeit a little less roomy for someone my size lol!
I have also realised this bike will become a new addiction! Ultimately trying to continue to extract just a... -

Arrivederci Euro 4
My long wait is over, finally the full system Akra is installed....
If you have been contemplating this addition but have had reservations, then worry not. got the bike back today and I have to say it's like riding a different bike altogether.
Sound : HOLY BEJESUS ! For now I have the baffles out and it makes an insane racket, so much so that they might have to go back in, but if you like your bikes loud then good God you will love it. Again this is personal preference but if you like the burble and crack of the over-run it's a pure symphony of sound. Oh and on the down shift with the auto blipper.... well it's ludicrous, the bike just barks at you on every shift, it's actually fun knowing you are coming up to the lights and they are going Red and as opposed to trying to beat the lights you just want to go down the gears then look at every face in the cars around you fearing that they are in the midst of a drive-by shooting.
Performance : Like I said, it's a different bike.... -

Ducati To Attend The Bikers’ Classics At Spa-francorchamps With An All-new Xdiavel Special
Ducati at the Bikers’ Classics event in Belgium with the XDiavel
Presentation of the special created by customizer Fred Krugger on 1 July
Called Thiverval, this special offers a futuristic take on the XDiavel
Borgo Panigale, Bologna (Italy), 29 June 2017 – Following two concept bikes based on the XDiavel (the XDiavel by Roland Sands and the draXter by the Ducati Design Center), Ducati has now placed its cruiser in the creative hands of Belgian customizer Fred Krugger.
The result is Thiverval, a fresh, futuristic power cruiser boasting extreme attention to detail; while retaining its ties with the XDiavel, it also demonstrates its potential in terms of customisation.
Presented in 2016, the Ducati XDiavel is Ducati's take on the cruiser concept: performance and comfort, riding pleasure and relaxed journeying, all combined with a design that has scooped up some of the biggest prizes both in Europe and the USA (Red Dot Design Award 2016 and Good Design Award 2016 respectively),... -
1299 Track Bike
Thought I would post up a few pictures of my 1299 having it's Track make over, doing my first Track day on it on Friday! Can't wait to get it out. Had it wrapped matte grey on the DP fairings, I'm well chuffed with the finished results.
