821 New Bike Bought In 5 Minutes - Oops
Hello Guys, coming back to biking and using my wifes Yamaha XVS 125 and loving it, sad I know. Anyway, I was planning on a Street Triple in early '17 but walked into a local Ducati dealer and saw my boyhood dream bike (from 1996) but all 2016 ish. Great salesman explained the latest set up and made me an offer that was too tempting. Paid 11750CHF - about 8'500 GBP. 5 mins to purchase is perhaps too much artistic licence but as it offered everything I wanted, especially the driving modes I jumped in. Ps I guess most of you end up in sport?
Anyway, I pick the bike up Saturday. Totally standard but suits me as a return biker. Any essential or usual mods etc from the experienced mass on here? I live in Switzerland so its mostly great B roads (for those who know, the Grimsel, Susten pass etc are 45minutes drive away).

Borgo Panigale, Bologna (Italy), 19 September 2016 – The second stage of Ducati Globetrotter 90°, the world tour that sees a Multistrada 1200 Enduro take in the most symbolic places and roads in Ducati’s 90-year history, has now concluded. Having left Bologna on 4 July, the Globetrotter torch has arrived in Vladivostok (Russia) with French rider Laurent Cochet and been passed on to Jessica Leyne, the only woman among the seven fearless Globetrotters selected to take part in this world voyage.

New Bike + Gardening Leave = Heaven! Plus I Figured Out How To Use The Mirrors!
Just checking in, as a relatively new member. I bought my first Ducati, the 848 Evo (and only my second bike). I resigned from my job. The sun came out!
Perfect combo of events.
Did 200 miles on it today. Starting to get more comfy on the bike. I had been frustrated at the mirrors. However, today I figured out finally what most of you already know I guess. To use the mirrors you just move your elbows out a bit! Felt so stupid afterwards.
Anyway, loving the bike.
Cheers,

Stage one of the world tour to celebrate 90 years of Ducati comes to a successful end

Frenchman Cochet is travelling the legendary Trans-Siberian Highway, from Moscow to Vladivostok
Borgo Panigale, Bologna (Italy), 7 September 2016 – Ducati Globetrotter 90°, the worldwide trip undertaken by seven riders chosen from among 3000 applicants, has reached the end of its first stage.

Panigale Destructions
So I've been wanting to do a project bike since selling my last one in 2012 but nothing really met my criteria... that is until the Panigale 899 came out...
Twin cylinder. Tick
Revs. Tick
ABS. Tick
Handles. Tick
~150HP. Tick
Under 200kg wet. Tick
So with the price difference between new and used been basically negligible because of the add-ons people had installed (that I didn't want) I picked up a brand new 899 in October 2015
Clocked up enough time on it over the weekend and dropped it off for first service after 3 days of owning it. Picked it up from service on the Thursday and was at the track on Saturday morning in some very retro leathers that I got for cheap. Great fun!
So within 3 weeks my brand new bike was torn down and looking like this
Plans were made and design work began on the new components with the first new part being a JW Speaker LED headlight.
The exhaust was de-tabbed and prepped for ceramic coating
Some 25mm 3mm thick aluminium tubing was layed out to start... -
New Member Saying Hello. '95 750ss Buckinghamshire
Hi all,
I'm new to this community and to Ducati ownership.
My brother recently purchased a 900 monster and that stoked the fire for me to get another bike, I've been bikeless for 4 years!
Strangely both my brother and dad have owned 750ss' my brother's was yellow.
It didn't take long for me to decide upon getting a 750ss, infact, it was almost subconsciously decided. Two weeks later and I was picking one up!
I love the bike, it has so much character, I keep wondering off into the garage just to look at it!
I picked it up from Cheltenham and rode it back through the cotswolds, a fanastic way to get acquainted.
It has a couple of niggles which I am looking forward to addressing, some clutch slippage on WOT and some popping at low revs and coming off throttle.
It has a stage 2 dynojet with the open airbox mod, k&n filter and Bos cans.
I'm looking forward to meeting any enthusiasts nearby, I noticed a meeting at the Supersausage cafe, that's 5 minutes away from me.
Here's a pic.
Hope... -
New Here Today Buying An 1198s
This is my second Ducati. I sold my '94 900SS a few months ago and instantly regretted it. I've bought this 2010 1198s with full Termignoli exhaust. The bike is currently being serviced and prepped by the sellers Hyside Motorcycles in Romford. The silly short levers are being replaced with stock levers.
I hope to collect it this coming Saturday.
Dealer photos, sorry about the quality -
1200 R Sc Project Exhaust Fitted
I'm not completely sold on the look of the Termi exhausts. There aren't many alternatives on the market, but I did like the look of the SC Project Carbon Oval exhaust, particularly as it doesn't obscure the rear wheel and tidies up the back end. -

1199 I'm In Love With Her
I literally can't believe this thing. Done about 500 miles in two weeks and I love it.
Compared to the 848 it's not as brutal in the low end but so much easier to ride around. The electronics and traction make me feel utterly glued to the ground. I feel like this bike just makes me a better rider, it helps
Me lean, it forgives me for small errors like a slight blip on the acceleration.
Not to mention the speed of this thing, it feels like I've strapped a rocketship to an ever bigger rocket ship. I love how it's literally just a swing arm bolted to an engine block with some fairings. It's literally the feeling of riding a dangerous animal.
The bike makes me respect her, it knows I'll never be as skilled as the bike requires, that its limits out does mine and I love that.
The brakes could stop a hormonal single woman from eating a tub of Ben N Jerrys. I can't believe the sheer stopping power of them.
I had a go on the R1M this week and it just felt like a shell of a bike... -
Double Delight For Be Wiser Ducati With A Win For Byrne And Podium For Irwin
Shane Byrne breaks lap record in qualifying
Byrne wins race 1
Glenn Irwin takes first ever Superbike podium with 3rd place
Shane ‘Shakey’ Byrne’s rivals had no answer to the Be Wiser Ducati rider’s dominance during qualifying at Thruxton. Byrne was fastest throughout every practice and qualifying session, breaking the lap record in the process. Race day Saturday was to prove no different as the man from Kent increased his championship lead with a stunning race one before the perfect weekend was slightly spoilt by a retirement in race 2 on Sunday. However the disappointment of Shakey’s DNF was tempered by a fantastic ride by teammate Glenn Irwin who picked up his first ever podium in the Superbike class.
Race 1
It was an initially a frustrating race 1 for Byrne as he had a 5 second lead by half distance before a red flag meant a restart for a 12 lap race. For teammate Glenn Irwin it was a better outcome as he was able to start from 14th position rather than his previous 24th... -
Guiver And Morris Take A Race Win Each At Thruxton Circuit
Rob Guiver and Leon Morris take a win each
Sean Neary takes two podiums with a 2nd and a 3rd
Guiver leads Morris in the championship by 5 points
The Ducati TriOptions Cup served up to two hugely entertaining races over the weekend with the two leading championship contenders sharing a race win each.
Race 1
Rob Guiver (Hyside Motorcycles) continued his form from Donington Park with the quickest times in both practice and qualifying to lay down a marker for his nearest title rival Leon Morris (Carl Cox Motorsport/ P&H Motorcycles). However it was local man Morris who was to come out on top in what was become almost a two part race.
Despite Guiver starting from pole it was Sean Neary (Zoek Racing team) who took the lead into first corner however it was Robbie Brown (Boast Plumbing) out in front after the first lap. Behind the leading two, the battle was just as intense as places were swapped to and forth, with Morris making a charge from sixth to third. The race was all set...
