1199 Pani R
So it finally arrived. A fitting garage mate for my 1098R Bayliss.
First impression (unridden as yet). By eck its loud, even with road legal cans. Neighbours will love me on my daily commute at 06.15.
Niggles - they cover the whole bike in satin finish carbon, then put gloss carbon on the ends of the pipes. Annoying
Swing arm pivot is set to -4 on arrival, yet handbook says it should be at zero position (yet as per usual ducati manual quality, then shows a pic of the pivot in pos 4). Would be grateful if any new owners can chime in with how their's arrives.

1199 Just Bought My First Ducati
Pleased to say I have just bought my first Ducati after years of riding Japanese in line fours. Really impressed with the bike and the way it pulls is amazing. It's got a couple of bits added already, Superleggera graphics, DP rearsets, DP Carbon heel guards, DP Race seat and DP tailtidy. I've got a few plans for it myself, termi / carbon etc but really can't see what else I would want to do with it. Well chuffed to have an Italian bike tucked up in the garage -
Blue-printing: The Verdict.
What do you do when you've spent top money on an immaculate, low mileage, Termi-fitted 1098 SF, then spent more getting it custom mapped and running sweet as a nut? Obviously you furnish Louigi-Moto and CJS performance with £3200 and have them take a pristine engine apart and put it back together again with another remap barely six months later.
So why do it and what's it like?
I knew as soon as I'd bought this bike it was keeper. Its a proper old-school analogue road bike. Plain, simple and ballsy. Cacophonous and charismatic. Every ride is an occasion. They don't make em like this any more and they probably won't again. But clearly it was hamstrung by rotten fuelling, emissions restrictions and a general, mass-production, one-size-fits-all looseness.
I was more than happy with the results from the first re-map and exhaust valve removal:

Perfect fuelling and a fatter, crisper, creamy smooth power delivery. But there was definitely more... -
Ktm 300 Supermoto Build . . .
I've had a 2 stroke Supermoto itch that I just had to scratch for some time now, so decided to build a KTM 300 Supermoto.
So, in late November 2014 I purchased a donor bike, full Enduro spec and used as intended but tidy enough. The main factor was to buy one that had a solid engine, this had been fully rebuilt, top and bottom end within the last 40 hours, these things will do 300 hours no problem if looked after. Motor was sweet, so started to strip it down. I sold off most of the unwanted off-road parts to go towards the build cost as I was doing it on a budget, how wrong that budget was !
After stripping it, it became apparent that I had neither the time or the skill to rebuild the bike, so I sent it to a friend, who is a well known and highly regarded KTM specialist (KevinYorks on the KTM forum)
I had the ideas and plan and he made it all a reality, the end result is stunning, it's cost a fortune but I'm glad I did what I did in the end

A Good Steak
I'm currently in the second best restaurant in Leuven according to Trip Advisor.
Pick your own cut and weight of steak from the counter. Taste, texture and provenance of each described by the chef. Spanish, French, Belgian, Scottish, English, Irish ... I went for 250g of the Belgian Wit-Blauw cooked medium rare.
And when I requested some wine the Sommelier asked what steak I am having and whether I wanted chilled or room temperature. Room temp of course so a Spanish Tempranillo was duly recommended.

First Ride On It !
Picked up my hyper from “comfysofa” yesterday ..first chance to get on it tonight…pulls like a train and more grunt than a shed load of pigs!..don’t laugh but it reminds me of my first Harley (had what they call a stage 3 done ) it would show any sportbike the way up to about 75mph… wasn’t quite as nimble as the hyper though! Only did about 50 miles on it tonight.. a mixture of sweeping corners and fast straights…wasn’t going balls out but it felt really good and planted in the corners, on the straights didn’t go flat out but had it up to about 120mph, but it’s probably happier (so would my neck muscles be) sitting at 80-100 I’ll hopefully get out on it tomorrow and take it on some really twisty roads I’m expecting it to be a blast:Happy:

Twin Twins
Ciao Ragazzi,
I'm new to the forum and reasonably new to biking, having acquired a 600ss a couple of years ago and decided to do the DAS thing.
I love that little bike and can't think of a better introduction to the sport / hobby / obsession. Unfortunately she started cutting out after 5 minutes riding; I think a replacement carburettor is needed.
Rather than getting on with buying replacement carbs and since I had just too much space in the garage (that yawning chasm between the SS, the table tennis table, bicycles and children's scooters, various pieces of useful-looking timber, etc), I bought a 996. I've not yet ridden that bike as there's been a bit of a hold-up while the private plate it was on gets transferred, but I have looked at it an awful lot...I think I'm going to like it.

Ducati Multistrada 1200. Four bikes in one.
When it comes to the history of Ducati bikes then the Ducati Multistrada 1200 is surely one of the most diverse ranges around in the sense that we are not always entirely sure how to class the bike that come under the Multistrada series.
It was originally billed as a tourer type bike perfect for going on off-road adventures that a normal bike would struggle on. Indeed, there has been a rise in the number of bikes that have came under this classification in recent years and a lot of people are now purchasing them for off-roading; but does the 1200 from Ducati and all the models that come under this range actually classify as an adventure-tourer?
Releasing the 1200
The exterior of the Multistrada series, particularly when it was first announced in 2010 and released soon after, was controversial in that it could very much be placed, as Visor Down explained, in the ‘marmite’ category of bikes – you are either going to love it or think that it is one of the ugliest bikes around.... -
Ducati Multistrada 1000. Unmistakeable style.
The Multistrada range of Ducati bikes has always split opinion at least when it comes to the aesthetics. For every person who thinks that the design of the bikes – especially the first generation that was released in 2003 – is quirky and different there will be someone else who despises the overall style of the Multistrada range.
“The reaction [when the first Multistrada was unveiled] was one of hushed shock, because the Multistrada looks like nothing else – except possibly a Dyson upright vacuum. Ducati is known for producing iconic machines such as the 916 and Monster and now it unveils something that looks like the result of a night of taboo sex between a Cyberman and a supermoto”. - VisorDown.com
However, the design element to the Multistrada often takes a bit of a backseat when it comes to the bike overall as the focus is mainly on how well it rides. Multistrada itself translates into ‘many roads’ in that the whole purpose of the bike is that it should be able to drive...
