Merry Christmas & A Happy New Year To You All!
I just wanted to say a huge Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to you all from @Rob , @Ducbird and me.
As always this forum has been a delight to be a part of.
Friendships are forged on a daily basis here and though some people have had a very tough year, to see the support given by members to those with problems is something I’m immensely proud of. It’s nice to be nice. Please keep up the good work!
I hope everyone has a wonderful time over the holidays and that you are able to spend it with your loved ones - relaxing, catching up, eating, drinking and having fun.
Merry Christmas and all the very best for 2023! -
1098 My 1098s
I bought a 1098s today!! 3.5k miles on. I’ve only sat in it and heard it, but wow what a bike! I paid just over 8500 and has all Ducati service history. It’s due a service next year but I actually think I got a bargain! Anything in particular I need to watch out for on this beast? -
Ducati Performance Accessories Catalogues
I have compiled a collection of Ducati Accessories Catalogues and uploaded them to Dropbox for the benefit of forum members.
There’s a few years I’m missing and in recent years there seems to have been a shift towards Catalogues that are missing the part numbers - which makes them less useful.
I guess this is because they have gone to a website based model and don’t produce the catalogue in the same form they have previously.
If anyone has any to add or fill in gaps please let me know.

916 An Interesting Article With Pierre Terblanche Discussing 916 Development
I came across this article and thought I would share - some candid words from Terblanche about the Development process.
“As we later found out with MotoGP,” he said, “Ducati never really knew how bikes handled well until they got the ex-Aprilia guys in to sort it out. Ducati never really had a lot of testing [for frames], whereas Aprilia did. When I worked at Aprilia, at Moto Guzzi, I asked them why their chassis were so good, and they said it was because they’d never built engines – they used to buy them in – so all their expertise was on the chassis. So their bikes invariably worked really well, and even today with the RSV4, it’s still an extraordinary bike even though it’s getting a bit long in the tooth now.
“You have to remember that Ducati is based in Bologna, near Ferrari, and their engineering school is very good, particularly when it comes to engines. When you go to Aprilia, they have Padova University just down the road. There was a guy there who wrote one of the... -

Hello From Gloucestershire
Hi Everyone,
I'm Daryl I'm 56 originally from North Yorkshire but I've lived in various parts of the UK and spent 3 years in New Zealand. I've been riding bikes since I was 14 and bought my first Ducati a GT1000 this year. I'll be making a few changes to it and I've already fitted a pair of Triumph 1200 silencers as the originals we're trashed, are very heavy and a little too retro for me, one of the original rear shocks had blown so I've fitted an aftermarket set. The indicators we're broken so I've fitted a set of Triumph LED units as the originals are a. expensive and b. on back order bit of a Triumph theme to the replacement parts but they're plentiful and the bits are cheap. So far I'm loving it as it's easy to ride and a lot more relaxed than the Aprilia Milluono (Mille converted to Tuono) I've been riding for the past 15 years.
Cheers

For Sale 916 Biposto For Sale
For Sale, 1996 Ducati Biposto.
I have owned this bike for 16 years, only ridden it a few hundred miles a year, due to working away from home so often.
I put the bike on a SORN 4 years ago due to health reasons. The bike was started up every couple of weeks during this period of time.
Hence mileage 12385.
The bike has always been serviced by a Ducati trained mechanic at a Ducati dealership and service centre. It has not been tinkered with by untrained hands.
Had a Full service done including belts all fluids etc only a couple of months ago + MOT.
I have lots of paperwork, the previous MOT certs, service receipts & service books etc.
The bike has always been kept indoors (in my house, it’s own room) I have always and still love this bike and I am under absolutely no pressure to sell it, but I can not ride it anymore so it makes sense to let it go.
I am asking £11000 for the bike and will not accept any offers below.
The bike is just south of Colchester Essex.

New Guy From Bangalore, India
Been riding motorcycles since 1992, stopped riding between 2004 and 2014. Got back on a motorcycle in 2014 and don't want to stop any time soon. Currently riding a 2021 Multistrada V4. Haven't been riding as much as I like to but hope to correct that in 2023. -

Cerakote - Wiltshire | Ducati Forum
i was hoping to get the bike rebuilt a little sooner but with Louigi Moto getting broken into i held off a little for the dust to settle before asking him to put it back together for me. (i would like to have given it a go myself but this one is my pride and joy so didnt want to risk fcking it up!),
i took it down there and had a good chat with Rich. they've caught the pricks who broke in although there's little chance they'll get the justice they deserve, but more importantly Rich was back on full form and did the engine for me and he's firing on all fours doing engines and services. he's got a lad called Lee working down there with him who is on the ball too.....fair to say the engine is immaculate! he really does do a proper job down to every detail and with Lee learning from him then the future after a shit year for him is looking good
i cant wait to put this back together, although... -

My Euro Cherry Has Finally Been Popped!
I’ve been hankering after a Euro trackday for some time but never been able to find the time or money to justify it. However, a few months ago I thought to myself I’m gonna do it, I couldn’t stand the thought of not riding anymore this year.
Through a friend of mine we managed to get on to the No Limits Jerez trip, this was for 3 days from 25th to 27th November. There were a few other friends going which made it all the better.
As I was a novice to a Euro trackday and my mate was a seasoned professional he showed me the ropes and made it all worthwhile.
Now if you think this is a nice little holiday with mates relaxing and taking it easy then think again. Euro’s are full on, from the minute you set off to the airport to the minute you get back home, there is no rest. Obviously if you travel a few days before and return a few days after then these days will be more relaxing!
Back to the good stuff, we flew out from Stanstead on Thursday evening, Spain bound and arrived at our... -
New To The Forum
Hi I am a first time Ducati owner living in Turkey for the last ten years. I've owned many bikes, too many to mention but 9 months ago I wanted to fulfil a lifetime ambition, and own Ducati. As I'm retired my funds were very restricted and the cost of buying bikes in Turkey is very expensive. So, I decided to go full analogue and buy one of the early Ducati Monsters, and I'm not disappointed. It's a classic, with a feel-good factor every time you ride it, and the glorious sound of a dry clutch. Not done much to it at the moment except bring it up to pristine condition and decide what new accessories I treat it with. I have included a photo to show its current condition. -

Hello From Darkest Surrey
Picked up my new Bayliss a week ago from Pro-twins. Had 3 days of reasonable weather to start enjoying her and managed to get 170miles on the clock but a little fearful she'll be stuck in the garage for a few months now.
Only mods/additions so far are race (tall) screen, front axle crash protectors, removing the awful euro reflectors on the brake callipers, throttle spacers and optimate euro5 connector charging lead install. Anything else can wait until I've had a chance to ride her more and assess what, if anything, is needed (or takes my fancy). I suspect that some form of paint protection and race-shift pattern rearsets are going to be next. -

996 Restoration - Exploded View
Hi, getting to the point of reassembling this old 996 that had sat in a garden for 15 years rotting. I thought I would take the time to lay out all the various pieces to see what a 996 looks like fully dismantled. Looking forward rebuilding now and hearing her fire up for the first time in 15 years!

916 #116
#116 finally lives again, maganaged to get morning off work and finally collected. New clutch /electrical woes sorted, was a bit chilly at 07.00 but put a massive grin on my chops on a few favourites back roads. -
Greetings From Wales
Hi all, previously masqueraded as Scaramanga on Ducati Sporting Club, and returned to the Ducati fold after a dalliance with Aprilia. Gone right back to my roots and bought the sister bike of my very first bike, a 2002 748bip. Same year, same model, same colour and from the same garage!
