Big Red But Not A Duc
I've been posting progress of this beast on other platforms but figured I'd stick it up here for interest too.
Last summer I became the custodian of a 1996 Leyland DAF 95 360ati. I was asked 18 months or so previously if I wanted it but I was unsure. Mainly because of having somewhere to park it but also the running/maintenance cost worried me. I went for it in the end because I figured that if I didn't take it on then it would end up as a shunter or even scrap.
As some folk on here know I ride with a military veteran race team in the BSB and this unit was the old wagon that used to pull the team trailer. I photographed it in 2017 and printed a picture for the owner of the wagon and that is partly why it has ended up with me. It also became costly to keep it running so was upgraded at the beginning of 2021. The unit sat for nearly two years awaiting its fate. It has been in the race paddock for most of its life, along with the trailer that it used to pull.

Got Myself A Tuono Factory
So, I managed to bag myself a 2019 Aprilia V4 factory. It’s got a fair few miles on the clock but is in surprisingly good condition. It’s has a few mods, such as the Akrapovic slip-on and some fairly nice Ilmberger Carbon but unfortunately, although it’s a 2019 bike it doesn’t have the electronic suspension. Not sure it’s needed to be fair on the basis the smile induced from the intoxicating noise and my ride earlier in the week still remains on my face today. What a great piece of kit this is.
Having said all this of course and possibly being accused of being a bit fickle insofar as bikes are concerned sometimes it hasn’t stopped me swapping it for a later model. My budget wouldn’t stretch to the new MY23 model which I do prefer if I’m honest, but what the hell I’m 55 this year and still as impatient as 5 year old. If you’ve not grown up by the time you’re 40, I understand you don’t have to.
Anyway, get one. -

Ducati Bournemouth - Progress At Last!
Well it's been a long time coming.........
At last, I can announce that work has started on our new Ducati Store down here in Dorset! To say the process has been frustrating would be an understatement with our unit having been delayed by approximately 7 months however, upon receiving the keys 10 days ago, work started immediately with preparation for both the mezzanine floor and glazed shop-fronts!
We should be open by the end of March and look forward to welcoming you for a coffee and a look around.Mark - Ducati Bournemouth Feb 13, 2023 Ducati General Discussion Read More Views: 4,396 Likes: 16 Replies: 31 -

For Sale 1989 750 Sport, Rare Black And Silver!
Hi everyone, the time has come for me to make a serious effort to rehome the Sport, it will be going on eBay as an auction soon but I thought I would give you guys a chance to take her on, looking for anhy serious offer over £2000, I really do need the bench space!
Hi everyone, I have come to the conclusion that I am just not going to get the time for this one so looking to see if anyone fancies taking her on? The 750 Sport was an interim model produced between 1988-1990, they made 2607 in total with only 95 black and silver models produced for the world so there can't be many left now!
She is in very original condition with some patina but apart from the exhaust cans I am confident she is all there! She has had new cam belts and serviced ready for recommissioning but I just don'e have the time and running out of space so should be an easy project, I have included some photos to show just how clean she is under the skin and like I said as far as I can tell she is unrestored and... -
Just A Hello!
Hello guys new to here,
I have a 2014 1199 panigale.
This is my first Ducati and it’s unbelievable.
Got it In September and it got stolen 3 weeks later, luckily i found out who it was and with my “help” from my friends we got it back, I left it for the winter but it’s back out now just need a few bits. The main one being the top fairing/clock surround bracket sorry not sure what it’s called!? If someone has one give me a message thanks.
Can’t wait for the summer to get out on the bike properly. -
For Sale 2001 748r
Moving on my well cared for and very clean full Ohlins 2001 748r. If you are looking for an absolute concourse bike…..move on by. Having said that, she’s been in my possession since 2018 and has clearly been cherished and lovingly looked after by her previous owners one of which is a senior member of this forum. The bike had her latest belt service late last year along with an MOT. She’s covered just over 12.5k miles. Servicing has been by main dealer and independent over the years but she’s been well cared for with paperwork to cover the works. She’s currently fitted with plenty of carbon and aftermarket toys but also comes with all original parts. She has an aftermarket Ohlins damper. I replaced her battery in December and she’s currently sorned and in winter storage.
I’m not breaking my neck to sell her but just need space so she and my MH have drawn the short straw.
i have the original ECU chip and she is supplied with data tool battery conditioner and paddock stand.

Ducati Announces Turn-by-turn Navigation For 2023 Desertx, Diavel V4
Ducati has announced Turn-by-Turn navigation will be arriving to two of its models in 2023: the DesertX and Diavel V4.
The DesertX was one of Ducati’s standout additions to its range in 2022, and its first real foray into the off-road world.
Ducati has followed up the DesertX with the Multistrada V4 Rally as a second off-road focused option, but it is also bringing new features to the DesertX.
One such new feature for 2023 is the arrival of Turn-by-Turn navigation for the Ducati DesertX. An increasingly common feature, especially on long-distance bikes (adventure, touring, adventure-touring), 2023 model year DesertX units will be the first bikes in Ducati’s range to have Turn-by-Turn navigation.
The navigation will use the bike’s TFT display to show directions which will be streamed to it from the Ducati Link app on the rider’s phone.
The feature is not standard, but can be purchased as an option. This is perhaps not the best news for people who were looking to buy a DesertX,... -
916 Short Story Long
A long time ago in a galaxy not far away I was riding my 748sps home when there was a rattle and clatter and it went onto one cylinder. I didn't stop as I was only a few hundred yard from home
I took the belt covers off and the above is what I found.
Anyhow I decided it was tome to look for another engine.
I very quickly found one for sale. It was 916sp motor it came with a loom, P8 ECU and throttle bodies and injectors.
bought it and fitted it.
Had a few short runs around the East Yorkshire wolds and all was well This was till a long time ago in that same old Galaxy.
A meet was arranged on the previous Ducati Forum at Willingham woods and I had a ride there. on the way back another clatter and then a lock up and the bike stopped. Needed the assistance of recovery this time.
It had dropped an exhaust valve and mashed up the head and piston.
I Took the head to a race engineering workshop in Northallerton and for a very good price he repaired the head and also supplied one piece... -
First
Evening
Just bought my first Ducati at Christmas, been thinking of getting one for years (had 3 Aprilia's). I hope its not a sign of things to come, but its already broken down once. Dealer fixed it straight away and said it was the gear position sensor! Lets hope all the bugs are out of the system! -
998 Respray Results
Had the bike resprayed, you guys might remember I was gonna change it to red, then decided to keep it yellow!
Big thanks to Rage, in Warringto, who did a fantastic job -
1198 S Rebuild
First time posting in this section…brought a pretty rough 1198s, paint work was from a rattle can….needed sprag clutch….loads of engine work…
move had the bike resprayed from the guys at Rage painters in Warrington
added mosfet, and the relocation kit.
Added some carbon bits and bobs along the way too
Again big thanks to GTEC performance, for sorting out Throttle bodies. again I’ve been to a couple of dealers. And they had bike for 5 weeks but said it needed a remap, Gtec had it fixed in a Day! -
999 Back On The Road
Some you you might remember me, I purchased a 999s that hadn’t been on the road for years, and needed a tidy up, the project was finished late august 2022.
I’ve brought a lot of goodies for this bike since owning, so cost me a small fortune, but I’m so happy that it’s back on the road where it belongs.
A massive thank you to GTEC performance, in Market Harborough,
They managed to fix a fault on the engine in 4 days, it had previously been at a main dealer for over 10 months and they could not find the same fault!
any way here’s a few pics of the journey! -
Greets From Hants
Hi,
It's been a while since my last Ducati, I'm now considering another one, hence I'm here.
The forum looked a lot different back then.
I just missed a Streetfighter advertised by Potteries Motorcycles last week, wondering if someone on here got it?
Now looking possibly for a Hypermotard 950, there are a couple of nice ones around, waiting to hear about some bids, so we'll see. Prices seem all over the place on bikes, especially for winter.
Other considerations are 890R or 1290R KTM's, they seem ok, but the sense of ownership with a Ducati is much higher. I don't ride a lot these days, but I don't mind some tinkering in the garage. Just let some classics go and a Tuono V4 will hopefully will go this week.
Hopefully, things work out and I'm on this forum more often.
A pic of my last 1098. I don't think I could get my knees up that high any more!
Cheers
