So, been wanting to do one of these for a while, bit of a record all the little bits and bats I end up changing, how I did it and where I got the bits from, hopefully might help some people convert their road bike if that’s what they want to do. Or for no one to read but at least I’ll be able to revisit it

In December 2022 I picked up this 2018 Panigale V4 with 10k miles on the dash but apparently the engine only has 3k ish on it (the seller couldn’t evidence that however)
first things first, get the full akra, gloss carbon and Ducabike clear clutch cover off the bike. The exhaust is too loud for most of the UK so that’s going to be sold when Phil at Storm Performance has finished using it to make a track friendly slip on for some of his customers.

I’m not a massive fan of gloss carbon so that’s all gone on ebay.

And the clear clutch covers each to their own but it’s not for me. I want a dry clutch conversion but that might be an addition for next...

Ey up you lot, I’ve been away for a wee while but back again now, hope everyone’s been happy and well! I am however thinning the heard! Just sold a zx7r and the fire blade 954, I will be selling the multi soon but fret not the 851 and 999s (remember that one @Fire3500 ) will not be going anywhere!!!!

A US KC35 has been orbiting the East coast over hull in the south and Whitby in the North Its been refuelling RAF F35 s at 29,000ft

At last its finished. Not started her yet. Can't find my petrol can no doubt my son nicked it!!

Some have requested some pics of my Spondon Ducati. Here it is:
Largely put together during lockdown. It was orignally built by Steve Wynne in 1989. Had all the trick bits at the time. WP norton F1 forks, Ohlins rear, Astralite wheels, ISR calipers with Brembo top of the range discs. Originally had a tuned 907 engine with arias forged pistons. I fitted a 900 monster engine, but may at some stage use the heads barrels etc from the old engine.
Was running well, but need new front calipers, and the oil pressure sensor to sort out. Must get round to it, but other projects keep filling my time.

December 2022 and my Guzzi build is finished, So onto the next project, a Ducati Multistrada 1000 DS. I bought this as an unfinished project and it has some nice parts with it... light wheels, 4 pad brakes, and many more nice parts.

I wanted to make this build a bit different. I have in my head what it will look like, and some criteria for the build. It must be light, single seat, less old school, Carbs (I like carbs!) underslung exhaust... no tail piece, and above all minimal... I will ask myself do I need to fit this! Here is where it all starts!
I have ordered a load of stuff, but due to strikes and the time of year nothing will be here till the new year… It was also very cold in the main workshop, and with the cost of heating I don’t want to put the central heating on in there so the first job on this build was to make the throttle of all things. There is probably no worse time to sell a bike, but a house purchase forces my hand.
I have owned this bike since 2010 - having had 4 previous owners. It has wanted for nothing and in that time always dry stored.
It was last serviced by Inta Motorcycles, Maidstone, my local independent dealer in Feb 2022 - where it was totally refreshed - ready for me to get back on - after being off the road for a few years - hence the low mileage.
Nothing was overlooked and anything requiring attention was addressed and a full report / invoice produced - hence the £1500 bill.

In brief, it has a new MOT, tyres, belts, gold chain + sprockets, battery, ducati regulator, fuel sender + O rings, all ducati micro relays, fluids + air / oil filters, dzus fastenings & expansion tank - along with Arrow Carbon pipes + other carbon bits - open alloy clutch, alloy clutch reservoir, Single seat unit with a new, correct seat pad. Hi. Popping on to say hello. Yesterday I bought a 1299 Panigale from Ducati Oxford. It's completely stock. I couldn't believe the noise it made!

it's being delivered to my home. The wife doesn't yet know....

Finally I have a working MTS 1000!

So bought a very tatty 1000DS around 18 months ago. It was scruffy and had wrecked forks (eaten by road salt). I replaced the rear shock and rebuilt the forks with a spare set provided with the bike. I took the engine out had a local shop change the belts and adjust the valves. Then I re painted the engine. Excellent I thought. I'd always wanted one,the bike looked smart again. Reassembled everything threw some fuel in ready to go for a spin. After a performance it started - ran rough and wouldn't idle. That's when the fun began!
Did simple stuff changed plugs, fuel filter and air filter - no change except now the bloody fuel pump assembly wouldn't seal (I did buy a new seal) so it dripped petrol everywhere. Bought a different seal and reassembled - it sealed - still ran rough with no idle and incredibly rich.
Took to local shop who did the belts - they were confused by it. Intermittent coil fault.
Replaced coils (one didn't test...

I used to spend a lot of time on forums and still browse some and participate in others, whilst will never return to a few too. The shame is, it seems each and every one is spoilt by aggression and arguments between (usually the same) members. I've been pulled into the arguments in the past and it's not healthy!

My point is simple really - this place is just so decent and I'm sure there's the odd spat, but it's one I'll enjoy visiting whether I still own a Ducati or not, as the folk posting are fun, helpful and it really does have a massive sense of community about it.

That's all really. It just felt right to say it.

Here I’m offering for sale my Ducati 900ss 1997, it’s only done 15800 miles. It’s just been serviced by me, oil, filter, valve clearance, brakes, brake and clutch fluid changed, belts are 2 years old. As new tyres. New steering head bearings fork oil and seals. New reg/rectifier.

I have an invoice from Bains racing for over £900 for engine work done under 2000 miles ago.

Mainly all original, has the Leo Vince silencers, standard air box setup. Sounds great and not too loud.

This is one of the last of the Carby 900’s which adorns the Underslung rear caliper, carbon front mudguard as per Superlight.

V5 shows 4 previous owners. I have the hand books, lots of old mot’s and some receipts receipts, spare key etc.

All in really good very clean condition.

I bought it as base to transform the it in a cafe racer, but then I have regret, It’s just so good as it is!
As I’m finishing some other cafe racer project (Guzzi) I have been using the ST4s not just as daily driver to go to work also for plesiosaur up at local mountain roads, just fabulous!
The bike was in sad looking condition and had been stored long time when I took over it, now with some overhaul and new parts as:
Spark plugs
Liquid’s
Filters
Brake pads
Chain and sprockets
Tyres
Valve adjustment
It runs great, so I have decided keep it in original chape.

Following on from my "Man Cave Is Go" thread, I've been investing some time in working out a simple yet cheap to run heating system for the garage. Many will know that above the garage is a double bedroom and ensuite bathroom, that already has heating and hot water in place. That's all well and good, but downstairs it's still pretty cold, which is something I want to address, so I can work through the cold winter months if I choose to.

To this end I've settled on a diesel heater and an elaborate control system, using MQTT, that will let me monitor and operate it remotely. I am still in the process of ordering a lot of the parts I am going to need, and true to my OCD form, it will be an exercise in overkill but that's just my fastidious nature. As is the norm, I will document each step, as well as include plenty of photos, so if anyone else wants to do something similar, they can refer to my attempt. I'm hoping to have most of the parts I need by the early January, so stay tuned...

I bought a 1098s today!! 3.5k miles on. I’ve only sat in it and heard it, but wow what a bike! I paid just over 8500 and has all Ducati service history. It’s due a service next year but I actually think I got a bargain! Anything in particular I need to watch out for on this beast?

I have compiled a collection of Ducati Accessories Catalogues and uploaded them to Dropbox for the benefit of forum members.

There’s a few years I’m missing and in recent years there seems to have been a shift towards Catalogues that are missing the part numbers - which makes them less useful.

I guess this is because they have gone to a website based model and don’t produce the catalogue in the same form they have previously.

If anyone has any to add or fill in gaps please let me know.
